Handy App to See Nearby Content
Clean and easy to use app for finding nearby “in the moment” beacon content. Receive notifications when you encounter beacons. Bookmark content for later. Great applications for industries like real estate, events, restaurants. Down side for the user is that there may not be beacons to find in some areas until the technology finds saturation. And of course, content quality — like anything on the internet — hinges on the beacon provider. But this app is a handy way to find and view what is out there.

More and more businesses are using Bluetooth Low Energy beacons to engage passersby with proximity marketing, providing hidden specials and deals to people who walk near there store location, and this app makes it easy to find and interact with them. Pretty cool stuff! And don’t worry if the app doesn’t find any beacons near you right now. Leave it running in the background, and it will find them as you walk around town. There aren’t *that* many beacons out there yet, but more and more are showing up around the country each day!

The app was easy to navigate! Downloaded it at a food truck festival. Clicked on Walkabout and was able to find use the map to find all the different food trucks and open restaurants. Then clicked on event schedule and the list of stage locations and performers and times came up. Simple and pretty neat. The best part was that I didn't have to type in my location or zip code, etc. the app located the beacons on its own and I was good to go. Interested to see the various ways it will be utilized by organizations/events in the future!!
