Battery Guard tells you how long your battery will last! It is a fully featured, enhanced replacement for the battery tray icon that comes with your Mac. Battery Guard shows the time left on your battery right next to its icon! If you'd rather show the percent charge, you can see that too. Clicking on the icon opens a panel to quickly see loads of useful information about your MacBook's battery: - charge level - capacity - original capacity - time remaining It's FREE! No reason not to download it right now! Enjoy! If you would like to get rid of the built-in battery monitor: 1) Go to System Preferences -> Energy Saver. 2) Uncheck the box at the bottom that says: "Show battery status in menu bar".
Doesn’t perform as promised
This app claims to give a warning when 10% of charge is remaining, but I’ve never seen any kind of warning. Just showing me the percent charge is useless—or rather redundant, because the MacBook Pro’s own battery icon shows that. I was looking for something to replace a great app I used to have (but no longer is available), which gave a big, visible, un-missable warning when my battery was running low—it triggered at 20% remaining. Athough free, this app does nothing for me, so I am AppZapping it (AppZapper being a great app that DOES work as advertised).
Great app, needs dark mode support.
When I turn on Dark Mode in Mojave, the icon stays dark. it does not turn light like the others. I can't see the battery percentage without clicking on the empty space in my menu bar. Im giving 4/5 because it has served me so well in past years, giving me insight to hop my Mac will do that day. Best battery app by far. The thenths place percentage and the raw mAh data are also helpful. would give it 5/5 if it supported dark mode. Thanks Avocado Hills!
No audible alert
This does little more than the built-in settings energy saver app. I'd gladly pay for an audible alarm, which somehow disappeared from my MBA 10.9.5 Mavericks OS. With only 4GB RAM I cannot update the OS and am trying to keep this unit alive. An audible alert would help me avoid battery-killing 0% shutdowns.
Do Not Waste Your Time Downloading This App
Perhaps this thing works with older versions of Mac OS, but it does not play well with Sierra. Finder indicates that Battery Guard is open, but it is nowhere to be found. Could not even force quit. Had to restart. Trashed the app and its package contents just make sure this app was gone.
Nope just nope uh uh
i was so excited about this app and all that and then i download it…..and guess frigging what!? IT WON’T FRICKING OPEN!!! I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO OPEN IT, SEVERAL DIFFERENT WAYS AND IT WILL NOT OPEN!!!! GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
