Since many social media sites don't let you share audio directly, A2V lets you turn any audio clip into a simple video of its waveform! Choose "TRY IT OUT!" to open the share sheet, then select "Convert to Video" (it might be hidden under "More..."). You can use the share sheet from Apple's Voice Memos app in just the same way.
Works Perfectly, Thank You
I'm using this app on iOS 14.2, on an iPhone 8 Plus, and the app worked perfectly for me. I was able to easily load an .mp3 audio file of a song into this app using the Open-In/Share Sheet extension and it converted my song into a video waveform in no time at all. In my opinion, this is such a cool idea for an app and a clever workaround for sharing audio files on social media sites. Thanks a bunch! I think as long as you know how to use Open-In and Share audio files into this program, you shouldn't have a problem at all. I see the other two current reviewers had problems with this app not working for them. But, as I said, this app worked perfectly for me just now. It couldn't have gone smoother and couldn't have been more painless. When you first find your audio file, which it can't be a song you have in iTunes or Apple Music, of course, because they are all DRM-locked. So you'll need to have your songs somewhere else on your device where you can use the Share and Open-In function. I have all my music in a file manager app. From there I just choose an audio file (a song) and use the Open-In function and then the first time you'll need to go to the bottom of the Share Sheet list and choose "Convert to Video", which is the selection you use for this A2V app. Then you just select that and you'll be brought to a new window where at the top it will show you the progress of loading the frames for your song. After that it will compress the song for the video I believe and then you just click on the upper right icon and you can share the video into another app or save the video into the Camera Roll/Photos Album on your device. Also, the app gives you the option of customizing (click the "Customize" button at the bottom) the colors for the waveform itself, the background for that, the progress meter bar and its background as well. I do wish that we could customize the title of the video possibly. But perhaps that's just done when you share your video on social media websites I guess. Though, if I had one feature request it would be to ask if the developer would please offer an in-app purchase for this app so that we have the option of paying $1 or so to remove the watermark from the rendered video please. Thanks if you'll consider my feature request. Also, I just wanted to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to this developer for your immense generosity in offering this great and very useful application, free-of-charge. Thank you so much for that, I am very, very grateful for your kindness. As I said, though, I'd be more than happy to pay you a dollar or two, to permanently remove the watermark from the videos we create in this program. But, even without that option I'm still extremely thankful for this application and all the hard work and time that I'm sure you've put into it since its inception. Thanks for all of that, God bless 😇, and Merry Christmas 🎄.
Does not work
iPhone X iOS 13.3 Seemingly no way to add a file to covert to video. When you follow instructions Try it and select convert to video it just crashes. Wish it did work cannot find an app that does this. Cannot find a way to import Audi files into i memo either.
Wanted it to work. Does not.
See title of review. Wanted it to work. Does not.
* made the watermark an optional feature * randomized the name when posting a video so canceling/re-rendering/re-submitting would show the updated settings when posting to Facebook * fixed a threading issue that made the renderer hang occasionally
