Easy and great
We visited Paris for three days and rode Velib bikes every single day. We covered almost 100 km during our trip and it cost two of us a total of €26. Much cheaper than the 20 metro or bus passes and we got a little exercise in the process. Watch a YouTube video demonstrating how to best use the system. There are some pitfalls, but they are easily avoidable. I wish they offered T-shirts or Cycling jerseys. I’d buy one and wear it like the nerd I am!

I lived in Paris years ago and have been back several times since. On previous trips, I rented bikes or brought my own. This time I decided to try Velib. It has to have the worst website I’ve used in at least ten years. I tried to purchase a 3 day pass. I typed in my phone number in the required numerals-only format. The site, however, auto-“corrected” it to the American format of (000)-000-0000. It also affixed “France” to my US address. When I tried to complete my purchase, the site rejected it because my phone number and address weren’t in the required format. I went back and changed them, but it auto-“corrected” then and I couldn’t make the purchase. Lather, rinse and repeat several more times. Until now, the only thing I disliked about Paris was CDG—which, of course, is technically not in Paris. Now Velib’s website has just doubled that list.

I was charged and I’m not in france and my ride history reflects I wasn’t, I just received an email that this money was taken from my account. The e-bikes do not work. I tried 3 different ones so you’re paying more for a regular bike. Try Lime instead.

Stole 180 euros from us they did not give us the option for the secret code, so we could not use the bikes. And customer service did not do anything.
