The Ultimate Canadian Campgrounds app is dedicated to presenting information about publicly-owned, non-commercial campgrounds across the Canada. In this app you will find over 4,430 facilities, ranging from full-service campgrounds to remote boondocking and back-packing locations with no facilities or services. The data is the result of a collaboration between the Ultimate Campgrounds Project (www.ultimatecampgrounds.com) and Tom Hillegas’ USCampgrounds.info. These two sources are widely acknowledged as the two most comprehensive sources for public campground information. Included are Conservation Areas, Provincial Parks, Regional Parks, BC Forest Service Parks, Territorial Parks, National Park, County Park, Municipal Parks and Utility Company, First Nations, Non-Profit and Miscellaneous locations. THIS APP DOES *NOT* INCLUDE PRIVATE/COMMERCIAL CAMPGROUNDS, ONLY PUBLIC. This app is intended for everyone regardless of their camping interests - it can be filtered by the facility owner, such as BC Forest Service, provincial or county. Users can also filter on camping preference, such as Tent, RV or Back-Country. Mark locations as your "favorite." Send location data directly to our Road Trip Planner app. Import GPX data, making it easy to find campgrounds along your route. Read and write reviews. Tapping on a campground location on the map shows available information about each location such as total number of camp sites, number of RV sites, number of electric hookups, whether there are showers and/or an RV dump station, fees, nearest town, phone number, elevation and web site. Of course the app can only show what information that can be discovered for each location. Map caching for offline use is part of the app. While this app works best with Internet access, it is not required as the campground data is embedded within the app. Some supplemental services do require Internet access but this does not detract from the overall usefulness of the app. In an effort to continually improve the accuracy of the data, users are encouraged to use the feedback function on the Ultimate Campgrounds web site or the email function within the app to submit corrections, additions and suggestions.
Great Campground Finder
I use this to find many great municipal and other public campgrounds.

Odd omissions
Just bought the app and cruised through areas in Ontario with which I’m familiar. There are no listings for camping at any of the Rideau waterway locks, of which there are several, and no listings seen for islands in the St Lawrence Islands National Park. I have camped at several locations there over many years, so the omissions give me some concern about omissions elsewhere that I will not be aware of. I want to be able to trust the app, and I’m sorry to learn that it does not appear to be reliable.

Alaska Hwy
I am driving the whole 1486 miles of the Alaska Highway this week. This app has made it easy to plan my nightly stops! Bill
UltimateCampgrounds
This is the best quick way to find a campground when you are on the road. Using it to plan ahead works great too.
Not open when it says so
Have hit no less than three campgrounds listed as “open year round.” Not ONE has been open. Disappointed in the information provided as I had intended to rely on this app.
