I downloaded this specifically to get information about the St. Patrick’s Day parade only to find they didn’t even include it in this app. The whole app is obnoxiously created in a way that you have to scan down like you were scrolling TikTok, trying to find something that you like but it’s filled with uninterest things. How can you have an app about St. Charles that doesn’t even include what’s going on in St. Charles?

I’m sitting in one of the breweries, and got given a flyer for the “brew tour.” Visit all six breweries in town, get a free t-shirt. Sounds good, since I visit them regularly anyway. How do I do this? Umm… scan a code. Download a 44MB app into a phone that’s already tight on storage. Navigate to the “tour” challenge. Tap on the brewery I’m at. Tap again to say I’m here. Give permission to use my location. Oh… now I have to create an account. Enter an email address (oh boy more junk mail) and come up with a password I’ll instantly forget. Sigh… no t-shirt is worth this amount of hassle. Deleted the app and went back to my beer. The breweries in Jo Daviess County have a simple “bingo card” for their free shirt promotion. Why did St. C have to make things so complicated?
