Excellent App with all you need to enjoy your visit
This app really made our day at the Prado. We did not feel overwhelmed as the app has different itineraries to navigate the huge number of paintings. There is a useful map showing the rooms with the paintings in your itinerary highlighted. Each painting is eloquently described in a very informative way. Highly recommended!
Not intuitive to use. Save your money.
I expected a “Rick Steve’s-like experience”. I was sorely disappointed. This app doesn’t give you any indication of even which floor to visit! I spent 10 minutes waking around the museum trying to locate where the first painting of the 2 hour audio tour was! After that I gave up! I’m hoping I can get my money back on this one.
Good app
The Prado rooms are difficult to navigate for want of room IDs. This app does not help much with that, but it does help a lot with background and narrative about the major works. The museum-supplied map is nearly useless because the rooms themselves are not clearly labeled.
Great guide to the best works at the Prado
You could soend days wandering in the Prado without a guide to find the masterpieces. Museum audio guides rarely say “now skip six rooms, turn left and there’s the Velazquez.” This handy app gets you through all the greats in 2-1/2 hours, with commentary. Ignore the reviews that complain about the app not having the correct locations of the paintings. Museums move canvases around for special exhibits, loans and cleaning. If something isn’t where the app says, ask one of the red-scarved guards. They are helpful and know exactly where everything is.
Travelogue only
I thought this was an app commented on in the financial times today but this is a travelogue and the pictures' is just awful to be kind. Perhaps as an accompaniment on a walk through it might be helpful, but since you're looking at the real thing, who needs a poorly focused iPad app. I bought it 10 minutes ago and it's now gone.
Useless ... Wasted money
The app is not aligned to the museum.
