Kid Car is the only car service in New York City that provides safe transport for children by providing specially trained and vetted drivers with age and weight-appropriate, properly-installed car seats available in every vehicle. Parents can make on-demand and advance reservations using the Kid Car App. Kid Car drivers are fingerprinted, vetted, and trained in the installation of our car seats as well as many others. Kid Car provides up to 4 car seats in every vehicle. Car seats are designed for children between 5 – 120lbs. Kid Car vehicles undergo DMV inspections every 4 months.
Cost prohibitive
I was just quoted $329.90 to go 5.6 miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport to the Marriott Harbor Beach at 3030 Holiday drive. Literally $330 dollars to go 5.6 miles. That is $60 per mile. What?
No estimator
Website has a price estimator, which is broken. It specifically say to download the app for an accurate estimator. Except it doesn’t exist on the app.
Hundreds of dollars to use
People saying this is too expensive to use are not lying. For context, when I looked, it was $400-$600 for a 30-40 min ride to the airport. that’s probably worth it to some people that sometimes, but just so folks know before you download.
Service is great
The service is great. Drivers have been reliable, friendly, and safe. My only ding is that the app itself is pretty dated and hard to use. I think the people complaining about price have just gotten used to VC subsidized services. Seems like these drivers are paid well and that is a good thing.
App doesn't open
I'm on iOS 16.1 and the app doesn't open at all. It just displays the Kid Car logo on a light green screen but never loads..
Perfect for taking a newborn home from the hospital
We used this service to get our new worn home from the hospital in October 2022. We don’t own a car, so this was one of the few options available because you need an infant car seat to leave the hospital.
Wow. What a horrible experience.
Didn’t even get to book a car. In addition to needing a two hour heads up to book anything, I had one problem after another with registering. I entered my ten digit phone number and it kept telling me it was invalid. I had to enter it with hyphens and the +1 country code but it didn’t tell me that. I had to figure it out. Then I entered the verification code they texted me and kept being told it was wrong. When I asked them to resend a code, they said I was already registered. Again, to be clear, I didn’t even get to use the service because the app registration experience was so poor.
