It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Enjoy commentary through all the best-loved parts of the National Park. Whether we are exploring the magnificent elevated viewpoints along Newfound Gap Road or the historic and scenic drive of Cades Cove and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, the tour will make sure you hear about all the best places to see and stop, so you won't miss a thing.

Newfound Gap Road connects the bustling town of Gatlinburg, TN to Cherokee, NC. Along the drive there are many stunning viewpoints and opportunities to see the famous smoky effect as clouds and fog rise from the valleys. Along this drive, we visit Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the park and even take the walk onto the elevated tower from which 7 states can be seen on a clear day.

Cades Cove sits in an idyllic setting, that attracted the Native American people and then the first of the European settlers. On this drive we will enjoy superb scenery and visit historic cabins, churches, barns and mills. And be on the lookout to spot some of the Great Smoky Mountain's black bear population, as well as deer, elk and even wild turkeys.

Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail leaves right from downtown Gatlinburg but quickly becomes a stunning, peaceful forested drive, with a couple hours worth of scenic views and old cabins and barns, and some of the Great Smoky Mountains best waterfalls.

The commentary highlights all of the best viewpoints and has information on many of the popular hiking trails you may choose to explore. And the region has a rich collection of stories of characters who framed the history, the native Americans who came before them, as well as providing background of the amazing natural wonders.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

Well worth the cost!

I would have paid twice the cost! This app made our trip to the smokies. Gypsy was informative and entertaining. Now come out with one for each of the national parks. I would purchase more of them.

Try and try didn’t work

I had a strong signal but everything went blank when I was ready to hit the road. I did check for software update on my phone but was up to date. I reset the network didn’t work, I try other stuff and didn’t work. I wasted $9.99 but the sad part was that I could not use the application and had the experience I was hoping to get with the purchase.

So wonderful!

This is the second Gypsy guide we have used. It’s like having your own personal tour guide and it’s so easy to use. We can’t wait to use it again.

A GSMNP Necessity!

This was our first GyPSy tour and we loved it. This is the app I’ve been looking for: we could drive around the national park and learn about park history, wildlife tips, and get recommendations for everything from easy walks to hard day hikes! Totally worth the 9.99–and this is from someone on a student‘a budget!! We can’t wait to continue exploring the US National Parks with GyPSy!

Love gypsy guide

Just returned from Great Smoky National Park. Spent 5 days inside the park and loved having the gypsy guide along. We used the Yellowstone guide last year and loved it so definitely knew I wanted to use it again this year with GSNP. We call him George and love “George” guiding us around and giving us information and history. He always gets us to stop several places we would have never know. About otherwise. Gypsy Guide is worth every penny and then some. I will use it for every park it is available that we go to.

Plenty of quiet time to enjoy the drive

Overall pretty good. I had expected the guide to talk pretty much non stop. Might be a good idea for the guide to mention in the audio test that one the tour starts there will be quiet times between the commentary. Great for a solo traveler and I would definitely buy another tour for another park. I like how the comments synch up with the locations. There was one spot where one could really see the low fluffy clouds in the morning. I would recommend adding this info to the tour before reaching that spot “if it’s early in the day, check out the next overlook for clouds” or something along those lines. I’m glad I spotted them on my own and turned back.
