Connecticut DOT’s CTrail eTix app allows Hartford Line and Shore Line East customers to buy mobile rail tickets using their smartphone. Daily parking at Wallingford and Berlin stations is also available for purchase using CTrail eTix. With CTrail eTix, One-Way, Weekly, Monthly, and Ten-Trip mobile tickets are available for purchase. For customers that also use CTtransit, a CTtransit Monthly (Local) Bus add-on is available for purchase with your monthly rail ticket. Pay on the go, and use your mobile tickets immediately or save them for later. Keeping track of expenses is easy with CTrail eTix receipts provided via e-mail. Get started right away by downloading CTrail eTix and creating your account.
No Schedules
On first install, app repeatedly crashing. After delete and reinstall, I managed to login and see ticket purchase options but no schedules! Major functionality miss.

Can Connecticut and HNS please work to accomplish a solution that doesn't result in an app that feels like someone was inconvenienced and enslaved to write? The person responsible for ensuring customer complaints are heard and addressed is absolutely not doing their job. Look at these ratings!!! I laughed out loud when I saw that the app requires camera access to verify that the ticket isn't bootleg. The entire app looks bootleg to begin with! I agree with another reviewer who said they don't want to put their payment info into this app. Something tells me those pages aren't always loading over HTTPS, but there's no visual indicator, even though nearly every screen on this app loads through a web browser. Someone here at this agency wanted to make sure that only one platform (Twitter) ever only became prevalent in conveying information, that's why there's so many properly-laid Twitter birds all over the app, but the rest of it looks like someone delegated the responsibility of creating a usable app to their child so that child will have something in their portfolio by the time they're out of school. Connecticut's taxpayers should not be delivered such low quality applications.

There’s no train schedule in the app. All you can do is buy a “peak” or “off peak” ticket. There’s no indication of the train schedule at all. How am I supposed to know what time the train departs and arrives?

I had to delete and reload the app 5 times because the tickets purchased in app disappear. Luckily it emails you a receipt and the train conductors are understanding. Please fix!
