Take the guess work out of your daily commute by seeing real-time traffic and drive times specific to your route right on your Mac menu bar. Beat the traffic - save time and money by leaving for work or home at the right time. No need to manually check the traffic on your phone to figure out the best time to get out of work - Chop commute does the work for you and always shows you the best time right on the OS X menu bar. Chop commute is like Google Now for OS X, only better since it is designed specifically to help you get home quicker. Key features: + Status icon displaying color coded commute information + Save time and money by leaving at the right time + Live traffic information including accident/construction updates
Still works on Monterey
It's the only app of its kind that I've been able to find for my Mac. Even though it hasn't been updated in a while, it still works. I mostly work from home these days so I don't use it as much as I used to. But I have a 35-mile commute in one the the worst traffic cities in the US, so when I do have to go to the office, it's indespensible to plan my drive.
Buggy :(
It mostly works, but has some weird bugs. The "I usually leave for work at" field changes time value to some random address, and then the estimated time is all wrong.
Memory leak
I like this app, without any clicking it will provide me with the current commute time. However, there seems to be a memory leak. It currently uses 1.31 GB of RAM, the third highest RAM consumption on my iMac. If this could be fixed, I’d give it 5 stars.
Great idea
so far so good! I think most people could use this..
No more traffic jams
Always wanted an app like this - one of the best discoveries from Product Hunt. Although I would love if the menu icon showed times throughout the day and not just for few hours.
Great for anyone who commutes to office daily in traffic
I always try to avoid the traffic and this meant checking google maps in a browser until I found this gem. Now I can see the traffic status right in the menu bar.
