This application keeps the same concept of the StopWatch for Track & Field app, but includes the key requirements for Cross Country and Road races. It uses the volume buttons to control the start/stop/lap functions, so you can have your eyes on the course!. Includes predefined standard events and splits but also it allows you to create your own events and splits. The application can be used to time one or multiple athletes in the same race. You can set the application to work in Miles or Kilometers. Keeps all your events history for later review and analysis. Each performance can be shared by email. Missed the gun?. Don't worry, you can predefine the start time of the timer. It allows you to Import/Export athletes. This is useful when you have a big roaster of athletes and needs to be imported to the app. Also if you have the app installed in different devices (iPad and iPhone), it facilitates the process of keeping on sync the roaster. It allows to predefine Teams of athletes (before the meet). These teams, along with individual athletes, are available to pick from when using the app during meets; these expedite you the process of timing events during the meet. Smart Stop feature: because this app know the event and split distance, it knows exactly when the final lap is, so it will stop the stopwatch at the end of the final lap, regardless of the button you use (lap or stop). Because StopWatch for Cross Country and Road races knows the event and split characteristics, you can record: -The distance for each split -The estimated time at the finish line -The pace for each split -The average pace for each runner at the end of the event. Able to easily track entire team times. Using the volume down button, captures the splits so you can assign to a runner at a later time. Few flaws: can’t edit tines once assigned to a runner. Should be a way to undo or move to another runner if assigned in error. Also, “men” is the only option when creating a team; can’t select “women”. Other than that, love the app so far.

I’d like to be able to use this to time a small meet of 30 runners. I just want to capture all the finish times of all the runners crossing the finish line, (from all teams) to store the finish times for using to create official results at the completion of 4 races. 1. I’d like an option to not capture any splits, as the meet timer I would be stationed at the finish only. 2. An option to select a number of entrants in my race so that I can just push that placing number as they finish, and not need to have (or locate) the individuals names in my list. Perhaps size options of 25, 50, 100, or user defined to some preset max? Basically I’d like to use this in the same fashion as we have been using the Seiko thermal paper printout Stopwatch, so I don’t have to deal with those little rolls of paper and keeping track of the tiny result feeds. Thanks for your consideration! It would sure help out those of us coaching at the middle school level with small races!

This app is not intuitive at all. Why make it so hard to create a predefined team of athletes. Instead of having to retype all names for every new event. Complete pain to create.

Love this. Wish you could save results as PDF. Or google doc. Hate how difficult it is to figure out how to start another group of runners. I have maybe 2 minutes between races to check my runners to see if they are still in my group I created. And get yo start screen. For some reason, I had about 4-5 runners not show up on my group after the race started. Didn't realize until they were passing 1 mile marker. Had 27 runners in Jr high boys group. Didn't get the Sr high boys started on time. Hadn't identified splits and it would start. Should be set as default auto at each mile. Just in case. Over all this is so worth the cost to share immediate splits with 96 runners parents! I can send out their 1 and 2 mile splits before chip timed results are published. This is great for training!! This will be my second year using this app. Although it doesn't work perfectly every time. It's way better than my old option of carrying around a clipboard trying to get splits. I def recommend this app if you're a XC coach.
