Great Addition to Cards Coverage
The STL Post-Dispatch already had great sports coverage, and this is especially true of their Cardinals coverage. This is a welcome addition, with everything in one place including podcasts, schedules, minor league news, and MLB league wide news. It’s also a pretty affordable add on for those that already have a subscription to the Post. Always happy to support great local journalism!
Sigh. So Disappointing.
One star because I can’t preview the app without dropping $17 to start. The web version looks pretty until I go to read something and then … wham! Paywall. But why $17? Why not $4.99? Maybe even $9.99? I love the Cardinals, I love the PD coverage, I love DGoold’s writing (best baseball writer in America), I grew up in St. Louis. I’d easily pay $4.99 … but when I see what you get for $17 I’m out … Maybe it’s the cost of doing business — and I’m not suggesting the PD give away its content for free. But, still. It’s all adds up: AppleTV (4.99 Friday night games), MLB app (20 or 100 with TV access), Peacock, Hulu, Netflix, WaPost, NYT, Athletic … $17 seems … off.
