They removed old races
They removed the ability to watch old races from the Apple TV app. They just don’t care to return the function.

This has been going on for a year now, and Dorna won’t fix it. The Apple TV app has nothing but the 3 test sessions, zero past races, zero series, nothing. This is the biggest rip off as they sell it as working on Apple TV app, and if you own an Apple TV, you’re out of luck. They should be sued. Then they replied telling me that it will be added in the future (archive) which is the exact same thing they said last year. It shouldn’t take 12 months to undo the mess they made of the app last year. Also they told me, in the same email, that I could find things in the “browse” section of the Apple TV app, showing they don’t even know the app HAS NO BROWSE section. It has only “current season, Live, and account.” I’ve never seen a more incompetent effort by software developers. It’s either cause Dorna outsourced the app to child labor (as in kindergarteners) or they just don’t care about customer experience at all. There should be a class action lawsuit for false advertising, I think that is a good idea.

Opening this app just makes me sad thinking about all the functionality that’s been lost. This used to be a great app that provided the option of opening straight to a text only no-spoiler section and I could easily select which session I wanted to watch without ever seeing a picture or headline that might spoil the race when I wasn’t watching live, and it used to update quickly once the race ended! Now the app is a jumble of images and odd headers and clips that don’t always work but almost every time manage to get me to click on something that takes me to a race spoiler before ever finding the session I’d like to watch. Having used the F1 app I can understand what they were trying to go for, but it’s not there, so I’m left longing for the no-frills functional app of old.

Motogp can’t seem to get their app to work for whatever reason. The News section keeps refreshing itself every 10 sec even even though there is no new content and it’s just annoying when you are trying to scroll thru the page. They never seem to care about the smaller classes anymore as there are no news on their practices and qualifying today at Qatar as if they were not even there. Free video content never load properly unless you refresh a few times. Come on guys, it’s 2024 and is it really that difficult to make a decent app?
