MantisX is a training system that helps you improve your bow handling. Use of the app requires a MantisX Sensor which can be bought here: https://mantisarchery.com. It attaches to our detachable rail adapter. The internal electronics of the MantisX Sensor collect movement data before, during, and after your shot. The app analyzes the data of your shooting mechanics.
Recent update fixes some issues caused by previous update.
Update: Ver. 1.6.2 fixes/restores the first two issues. Sessions now are saved to history. And the red x white x are back. However, audio feedback still does not work. Hopefully, that will be restored soon. Ver 1.6.0: After updating. -Sessions are not saved to history. - It no longer displays a red X and white X to indicated release of string and release of arrow. -Audio feedback no longer works. - Links at bottom of screen to mantis web site and to report an issue are non functional. Someone in quality control was asleep at the wheel and should be called on the carpet.

Very good already, but …
I’m an engineer and highly data driven person. I used the handgun version to improve my form successfully a couple of years ago and hope to be successful again on my recurve bow. The app is very good already so I’ll limit my comment to the things I don’t like: I could not find the description of the colors in the trace chart after the initial setup. The 36 arrow limit is too low. I shoot an indoor league with 12 arrows for warm-up / setup and 60 for score. With the current limit I have to stop after the warm up and create two separate sessions for the scoring. 72 would be the bare minimum, 100 would be better. I number my arrows and shoot them consecutively so I can track performance at the target as well (especially when I felt something went wrong during the shot). Mantis has this fantastic My Target app that has tons of useful features to track statistics by arrow, by session over time but it’s just for Android! Please, please, please release it for iOS as well! That would make such a nice bundle. Proposals: Another thing that would be helpful is to have another mode for draw only – similar to handgun dry fire – where the trace starts with set and ends lowering the bow few degrees after the clicker goes off. If I can’t make it to the range I can still practice and review the draw this way and clicker detection could be optimized with a separate practice option. Please, please, please release a My Target app for iOS too!!!!
