Tennis in Australia isn’t like tennis anywhere else in the world. In January, Melbourne Park vibrates in waves of breathless excitement as the music pumps, the sun shines and the drinks flow. This is a place where the victories are harder fought, rallies more punishing and post-match interviews a little more candid. The Australian Open just hits different. The official app for the Australian Open 2024 allows you to follow all the action in ways you won’t find anywhere else. Want to keep across the best points from each match? Our immersive Stories highlights have got you covered. Maybe you’re after a full press conference from your favourite player? They’re all here. What about the day’s top highlights? Head to our Videos section for all the action on and off the court. Just checking a score? The latest scores, draws and schedules are what we do. You can also customise the app, so you get to experience the AO your way. Simply set your favourite players, and we’ll customise the app, so you get your favourite players' real-time scores, draws and match highlight videos front and center. You’ll also get notifications when your favourite players’ matches are about to start, so you never have to miss a point. If you’re lucky enough to be joining us at Melbourne Park, the “Visit” section of the app has got you covered with: • Easy access to your tickets • Personalised itinerary planner • An interactive map displaying the best route and journey time to every part of the AO precinct. • All the info you need about what is happening around the precinct, including world-class restaurants, bars and shopping The Australian Open 2024 hits different. Stopped updating
About halfway through the tournament, the app stopped updating any scores for me, or there were just a few random updates. I deleted the app and re-loaded it…it still has no scores for the women’s event or men’s doubles. Then I checked today, and some of the earlier rounds’ scores had disappeared. This must be more about the data feed than the app, but it’s awful. I just started using one of the betting site’s tournament scores and schedule because it’s so much better run than the official app! Really poor form. [cue the same dismissive automated response that every other negative review gets]
Australian open
What a great app to keep up on current news stats and scores.
What happened this year???
So many times i couldn’t get updates. Several mornings, the scores from previous night weren’t visible. Very clunky this year. And what is with showing the score before it’s even played on the TV? If only I could place a bet!
SLOW TO UPDATE
The score update has been behind & very slow! Zero stars, do not recommend!
Not the best, not the worst
My go to for just vanilla scores or to find out match times is the Yahoo Sports app. It is very frustrating that AO doesn’t by default show match times. This was written on Wednesday night in America, the Coco Gauff Aryna Sabalenka match is on the splash screen — but no time! So frustrating! I realize sometimes matches are approximate times, but any indication would be useful. This match actually has a actual start time — show it to us!! The stats are a useful accompaniment if you are watching the match on TV.
Australian open
Terrible can’t find draws
Great to filter out junior scores and results
Thank you to AO for the ability to filter out junior matches in results and live scores. Especially in early rounds, the scoreboard gets cluttered. I hope other Grand Slam apps follow AO’a lead.
