Tweaks for Twitter is a web browser extension that improves the user interface of twitter.com in many ways. Tweaks works in Safari, Google Chrome, and any other Chromium-based web browser, such as Brave, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and Vivaldi. (Chrome and Chromium browsers require enabling "Developer mode" in the Extensions window.) Tweaks is made by indie developer Jeff Johnson. If you need support, please email me at [email protected] or read the support site at https://underpassapp.com/tweaks/support.html Tweaks makes Twitter better in your web browser by removing these annoying elements: • Promoted tweets • Messages drawer • Trends • Who to follow • Topics to follow • Keyboard shortcuts • Hover cards • What's happening? • This Tweet is unavailable. • Explore • More Tweets • Bottom bar when logged out • "See more Tweets from" that blocks the whole window when logged out • "See new Tweets" in Notifications • Followed by some Tweeters you follow, Some accounts you follow often like this Tweeter, etc. If your Twitter account has no switch to select "Latest Tweets" at the top of your timeline, Tweaks forces the missing switch to appear! Tweaks also unsticks the title at the top of the Twitter window, making it scrollable. Tweaks replaces shortened https://t.co/ URLs in tweet links with the real unshortened URLs, allowing you to bypass Twitter's click tracker. (This feature does not work for Twitter cards or user profiles.) Tweaks has a number of options you can enable: • Hide all retweets from all users on all timelines • Hide animated gif profile photos • Hide the downvote buttons • Swap the colors of the Follow and Following buttons • Hide tweet stats • Disable the Twitter "Chirp" font • Automatically expand "Show replies" in conversations! (This feature currently works only with English, German, and Spanish display languages on Twitter.) • Warn whenever Twitter switches your timeline from "Latest Tweets" to "Home"
Amazing!
This is the exact safari extension I've needed for ages. I needed to turn off blocking of keyboard shorcuts as I'm a VoiceOver user and use those, but this is so awesome. Well done!
Extremely useful
Decluttering the interface is fantastic.
Improves Twitter for ALL
As someone who neither has a Twitter account nor wants one, I assumed this app was not for me. How wrong I was! Despite the fact that I do not want to spend my time on Twitter, it is hard to avoid articles that link to some discussion there; and for a casual user taking the occasional first-hand peek at a Twitter discussion elsewhere referenced, this app makes braving Twitter's website far, far less exhausting. Whether you use Twitter constantly or rarely, if you find Twitter's website annoying, THIS APP WILL HELP! (Unfortunately, an app that will make the content Twitter chooses to publish less annoying is still a pipedream...)
best way to block all
all trending left propaganda from twitter.
My god Finally
Worth it at ten times the price. Worth it alone for auto-expanding hidden replies by default.
Well Done
This developer knows what Mac users want.
Doesn't Appear in Safari
I'm not sure why, but for some reason, after installing the application, the extension doesn't appear in my Safari Extensions menu. I'll try this again later and will raise the rating if I can get it to work.
• Hide "See new Tweets" at the top of your home timeline. • Fixed a bug where hiding "See new Tweets" in Notifications didn't always work. • Fixed a bug where disabling "Show missing timeline switch" didn't always undo the preference. • Fixed compatibility with Safari 14 and macOS 10.14 Mojave that was broken in version 11.0. Sorry about all of the recent updates!
