Lacks areas, crashes, ads & is NOT for age 12-17!
As an actual streamer on other platforms, I really wanted to try Hyper for at least a few months before giving it a honest review. This is a longer review, but worth a read. *TRUE PROS* (then cons): Hyper started with 3 hard working ppl who were constantly/visibly trying at improving the app and do their best to accommodate early users, giving incentives for creators & users in general. Then they stopped. Their discord has FAST response forum app for bug reporting! Hyper models BETA hand tracking was a good attempt, but it was removed. The Hyper following tab makes it super easy to find the people you follow. Making Hyper coins & using Quests was fun & easy, BEFORE they added overpriced gems & stupid lootboxes. Theres a way to connect your discord when you make a post but it is not a “stream key”. TRUE CONS of Hyper: Avatars - Glitchy ugly Hyper avatars do not look like anything like beautiful live2D or Reality models, and it DOES NOT have anywhere near the skill or creativity in model creation / selection in 3D as VRoid or VRC! Gems are grossly overpriced. VRoid studio generally don’t work at all (they gave a general benchmarks for size, but those don’t work either) AND make your stream lag REALLY BADLY that they are unusable for most as well as crash app and a VERY frustrating experience for artists who actually joined hyper because they want to show /stream their own avatars. There is extremely limited selection of colors within EVERY Hyper avatar creation category. Messaging - NO way available TO delete messages!! If you have over 100 followers the message box fills up & is useless to check - takes up app space for no reason. Every new person stays in inbox and every new follower you get becomes a “message”. :(( you can’t delete messages. Moderation - Hyper has little to no moderation of minors on app and doesn’t know if it’s 12+ or 18+. There is questionable sexual content and the AI is doing things to kids under 13. :(( Streams (Lag/Limited Sharing) - You cannot share your screen or ANY mobile app nor ANY pc games on your screen when you are live. They also promote a OBS connection for streaming from Hyper to other platforms like cray, but it isn’t really Livestreaming from YouTube TO Hyper so you can stream on both; Hyper streams are VERY laggy, crash & freeze. You stream YouTube live. Audio disgusting sounding and any video looks so bad! The only shareable video media is YouTube. You cannot share most videos when you are live or play most YT playlists or any links Lives generally have to be restarted MULTIPLE times to ensure people see you or it is working. This is EXTREMELY frustrating for seasoned streamers and prohibitive experience for any starter vtuber nervous to even try to stream! You cannot switch avatars while live (or even switch to use a easier hyper avatar) chat orientation changed and is very harder to read Stream “Setup” - You cannot have any setup items for your “stream overlay” using .gifs or ANY animations/animated screens. Static Pngs is the only option in a live and in hyper, a png unfortunately cannot be resized. ALL Hyper social media “ads” are promoting things it can’t actually do yet or do well. There is no “hyper stream key” so that one can stream TO hyper (from other PC platforms that vtubers/ streamers have to try to get viewers to watch them on anyway) that are less laggy, have less livestream issues and can use their own avatar. Streaming Hyper to other platforms is backwards & laggy process for PC users. Due to all these, most vtubers JUST talk to ppl. in “stream” & then to invite them to see them on OTHER platforms because: Gamer vtubers can’t game on Hyper. (Aka Twitch streamers/YouTube streamers… ) they are FORCED to invite ppl to other platforms WHILE LIVE on hyper to watch them and that is all they can do. Singers / karaoke vtubers can sing live when/IF the YT video plays (most don’t) or make videos of singing. Producers/Musicians vtubers cant share music or share their mobile/pc screens (while making music) so they are forced to invite ppl to other platforms or make videos within hyper of their performance which isn’t likely as using better video capture apps/programs and is rare. Visual artists vtubers get some visibility on hyper as they can share the images of their completed art in lives and in posts, but NOT the creation of it as no one can see it. Voice actors, lore heavy vtuber writers & storytellers CAN be on hyper as they only need to speak in chat or act to the chat, but they are a small group. Got to the end? I find it stupid that we cant do like you know like make the story all gory or NSFW, ect when your only talking to the AI not a real person. Other than that i love this app but i wish we could share pictures to it on our computer as well like screenshots of games ect, and i wish you can add stuff to the AI with no limits. Ive been adding some with storys that are long and cant quite fit all the text. Also you can turn the AI private. You should have it so you can set the AI to mature content as well, not just our profile. Wish we didn’t have a limit to how much we can add to the AI in creating it like the Backstory and Likes and Dislikes ect. Have it so our conversation with the AI so it remembers everything we say to it and this would be better for roleplays we do with it too. Oh and it would be nice if the AI remembers everything so i dont have to keep reminding it. Also it would be cool if we could rewatch our live vids.

It’s a lot of fun creating an avatar and being a vtuber but it’s not suited for long term streaming or use. The face tracking is consistently lagging, some accessories or outfits are lag out or appear to be floating off the characters head or neck (you turn your head and the accessory or clothing disappears and you see a huge cut in the character). I love the poses and actions built into the app, but they are inconsistent and sometimes you can’t get them to stop without having to shut down the app and restart your recordings or stream.

The app won’t connect/load when I open it. Says there’s an internet connection issue. I’ve restarted wifi, connected to a different one, used cellular service, nothing. Doesn’t work, deleting

I love this game but now it seems to have stopped working for some reason. What should I do with an app that doesn’t work now? And I have a few suggestions for you too. Make AI capacity unlimited for free please

1.1.26 fixes an issue where the lootbox tab wasn't showing up, and an issue with emotes not setting properly in the Avatar Builder.
