HalloApp is here! The first app for *real* relationships. And we’re building it for you and your loved ones, friends and colleagues. A completely new category. A simple, safe, and private place to connect and share what matters in your life, with the people who matter to you. In complete privacy. Unlike legacy social networks, HalloApp believes privacy is a fundamental human right. We use your phone number to connect you with friends and family. Beyond that, we *never* collect, store or use any personal information. Which means we *never* sell your personal information. Because we *never* have it. There are no brands, ads or influencers clogging your feed. Just real people you really care about. Your chats are end-to-end encrypted. No one outside of your chats can read them, not even HalloApp. HalloApp was founded by two ex-WhatsApp folks, who helped build WhatsApp and turn it into one of the most beloved apps in the world. We're excited to hear from you! If you have feedback or questions, please email us at: [email protected] Or follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/HalloApp @HalloApp
BAD privacy practice from the start
Can’t get started without uploading all your contacts. The stated goal of this app is to keep you in touch with your “real” friends: why do you want to connect me to my dentist, my boss, people I don’t know who may have inherited a contact’s old phone number, etc. Why not just let users invite who they really want? This app is getting DELETED now.
Poorly done WhatsApp clone
I’m not sure why this app exists. Asking me to upload all of my contacts is gross. I’m not interested to share my personal photos with my plumber and handyman.
Accesses your entire contact list
Ex-Facebook employees made an app that requires accessing your entire phones contact list.
You don’t need access to my Contacts for this to work.
Let me manually enter the names and numbers of people I’d like to contact. I don’t believe your privacy statement when the first thing you do is ask for my full contact list.
Best minimalist App
This is one of the best minimalist social + friends & family feel App.
What
Idk what this is supposed to be
Worse privacy than Facebook
The app makes it impossible to do anything until you allow it to access all your contacts. You can’t add friends individually in any way until you relinquish control of all your contacts. This makes Hallo even worse than Facebook, an app which works quite well without access to contacts.
