Geneva is the group chat app connecting you to the people you want to meet and the things you want to do in your city. What you’ll find on Geneva… GROUP DISCOVERY Geneva is home to groups and communities of all shapes and sizes, ranging from IRL run clubs to digital book clubs – and everything in between. Explore all the groups on Geneva and join the ones that feel like a fit for you based on your interests and location. EVENTS One of the best parts of being in the group chat is making it out and meeting up. Our centralized events calendar makes that easy to do by including all events across your groups. All you have to do is RSVP and show up. CHAT Get a conversation going by hopping into any of your groups full-featured chats – complete with @s, threaded replies, reactions, GIFs, attachments, polls, pins, and more. DMs Because sometimes you just want to start a private side convo. FORUMS, VIDEO & AUDIO Some conversations require a different medium. Use forums for big announcements, video for face-to-face hangs, and hang out over group audio with as many people as you’d like. NO ADS & NO SELLING YOUR DATA Ever. Instead, we're building a bunch of exciting features that'll make it really easy for you to transact with one another, and when that happens, we'll keep 5% (more info on this coming soon). ACCOUNTABILITY Because everyone signs up with a phone number, not an email address, blocks and bans are easier to enforce. This means less room for trolling and abuse. And we won't share or display your phone number anywhere. Every groups sets their own house rules and we empower group admins with the tools they need to enforce them. This is just the beginning! We're working together to build something that's fun, safe and useful, and we'll be adding new features all the time. If you have suggestions, questions, or feedback, drop us a note at [email protected]. Made with love in New York City and beyond.
Explore page is gone!
I can now only see groups near my area, but i totally loved the app because I can find groups all over the united states!
What happened to the group explore page??
I’ve been using Geneva for a while to use with clients in my group programs, and for that, I love it. However, the initial appeal of Geneva for me was the vast array of different groups I could find. There were sooo many options! Now when I go to the discovery page it's showing me groups in my area (i absolutely do not care about those, fyi) and it’s super difficult to just explore all kinds of groups from anywhere in the world. I loved that aspect because it built incredible community. I’m super bummed, why did you take that away??
location issue
so far I haven’t been able to use it much, mostly because a friend of mine invited me to the app while I happened to be visiting Cali (I don’t live in Cali) - despite this the app only shows me groups in Cali when I try to find new ones. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app but it doesn’t change my location to where I actually reside.
Geneva Review
I LOVE Geneva. It is so easy to work with. It also allows you to explore many brands and be apart of many at once. The app is so fun and definitely worth using!
bring back threads!
we can’t see them anymore! please stop hiding them! also notifications don’t take me straight to the conversation it’s so stupid
Regret leaving discord 🙄 Too many changes at once, lack of accessibility
Everytime yall make an update on this app its so evident yall are not prioritizing your neurodivergent communities and users. The constant unnecessary aesthetic changes in the user interface and experience is confusing and hinders community members from familiarizing themselves with the app. I have a geneva community that i migrated from discord to geneva with thousands of members. Im literally ready to go back to discord because of geneva's lack of creative direction. I understand that bugs and updates are apart of the growing pains of supporting new companies but it just feels like geneva has become a lab for developers to "try new things" at the expense of actually solving for who their target audience is. Yall built your social platforms on bringing book communities together only to pivot the app to a glorified version of MeetUp and the updates and pivots havent stopped since then. Its a shame that you all dont see the potential of this app and are constantly making it more difficult to access, understand and customized based on community needs. Most of these updates are redundant and bloat the user interface and often dont even work as intended (im not even gonna start on the notifications page 😤). Again as someone who has thousands of members in my community please hear this bit of feedback: every single time yall update the app, THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY SPENDS THE DAY COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW MUCH WE ALL HATE IT. Members even go as far as to leave the app all together because you all are not designing with everyone in mind.
Very chaotic and difficult to navigate
Not an easy app to navigate at all. It’s very chaotic and hard to use as a group organizer. I would use it more (like I useMeetUp for instance) but it just takes too much time.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
