Absolutely hammers notifications down your throat. I was a seller on here so I couldn’t exactly turn them off incase I made a sale or a buyer messaged me. Notifications aren’t even for offers most of the time, just tells you your balance or some stupid reminder to open the app. Absolutely obnoxious and unnecessary.

Buyer BEWARE! Changes in business model push fees to buyer. Bought something used here for the same price as new. Not sellers fault, so didn’t cancel. Mercari, do better!!! I’m no longer buying. Done!!!

Mercari has a customer service problem. I have stated on multiple occasions that I talked with USPS and the tracking number provided to Mercari doesn't exist. How they got a "delivered" notification off of a non-existent tracking number is beyond me. I never got my package. USPS can't refund me because of the non-existent tracking number. Mercari is going to force rate the buyer and give them my money. I am now out the money and no package to boot, without any way to get either. I have now canceled all my orders that haven't shipped from them and am no longer using them.

TLDR: don’t trust seller ratings. no way to rate sellers who ghost of contact the company I’ve been using the Mercari ap for a while with some success to find specific or name brand matches for my boys for a bit with moderate success. I have twins and am big into name brand or luxury brand for cheaper than retail. I’m in all of the sites and fb groups/marketplace so I’ve got some experience with the different platforms. My biggest issue with Mecari is that after months of using it and over a dozen purchases, I don’t trust the seller rating. If a seller ghosts you or doesn’t reply they will basically just wait you out until you cancel because then there is no way to give them a bad rating. Its frustrating. I bought from a seller with 100+ ratings and a 5 star track record. Only for them to ignore me for two weeks and, not ship the item nor respond to inquiries forcing me to cancel. Then there was no way to rate the seller once cancelled or before. They will only allow you rate a seller when the he item gets to your doorstep. So no way to review if they ghost, stall, or never ship. After two weeks of nothing if course I was forced to cancel and Now it just shows up on her profile as a verified “review” that I cancelled the item. No way to contact or complain to Mercari so here I am writing reviews on multiple platforms since there is no other way to voice my frustrations to them besides pre-filled form statements. Just buyer beware. Be sure to read reviews of sellers and if you see too many canceled items know that the seller is probably not reliable.
