Incredibly useful AND fun!
I have SO appreciated the ability to catalog my wardrobe and track what I wear. It’s especially helped me identify what I *actually* wear day-to-day. As it turns out, my lifestyle and sartorial priorities have shifted a LOT since the last time I did a closet clean out. I’ve been holding onto a lot of pieces since before my industry shut down in 2020-21 because there was so much uncertainty about what life would look like “after”. My life and career have shifted because of the downstream effects of the pandemic, as well as some other big life changes, and I was feeling stuck in a bit of a rut with my daily clothing choices. Working with Indyx helped me put visuals and numbers to that feeling, and I’ve been swapping go-tos (that were practical but boring) with some old favorites that hadn’t seen the outside of my closet in awhile. I feel excited about my wardrobe again (without buying anything new), have identified several pieces I can now joyfully release to friends or resell, and am much more clear on my priorities for future clothing purchases. All of this just by using the FREE features in the app. Now that I have my personal priorities set and most of my items cataloged, I am very much looking forward to using the paid stylist feature to get a creative, outside perspective on how to get more out of my rediscovered love for my closet. A couple of suggestions for improving the app: - More specific sorting feature - Ability to scroll Left/Right or Up/Down while in the larger, single-item view, to better compare a group of items.
Absolute game changer
I’ve been amazed how obsessed I’ve become and how in such a short period of time this has become a life essential. This app is so so helpful and has all the functionality I wanted.
Alienates Queer Users
Despite the account creation’s seemingly progressive inclusion of more than two gender options, the app itself does not do much more than just that. If you choose “non-binary” in the account creation, you are allowed to take the style quiz featuring incredibly feminine styles with the least amount of gender non-conformity possible. However, if you choose that you’re a “man” at the start, you are given a warning that the quiz is mainly designed for women, which is absent for non-binary users. Upon seeing this, I immediately deleted the app because it is just one more apps that equates all non-binary individuals to women but still pretends to care about them to seem progressive. Even if one were to ignore the transphobic undertones, the lack of any kind of non-convential styling (not even just in regards to gender, but in the broader styles as well) in a quiz meant to help you find your style is truly baffling. The least the developers can do is give the same curtesy warning to non-binary users as male users before they attempt the quiz. If you do not plan to be inclusive, do not trick users into signing up before revealing that you never had any plans to be to begin with.
Love it!
This is such a great way to see everything you have quickly and build outfits seamlessly. Tracking the number of times I wear each item and cost per wear have also been super helpful in narrowing down my style and making informed shopping decisions. So glad I found this!
Love this!
I have really been enjoying Indyx. I had a lot of fun digitizing my wardrobe and it has been really helpful to see my wardrobe to be able to better shop my closet. I want to be more intentional with my overall consumption while still enjoying being stylish, and I find this tool along with the articles very aligned and meaningful. I’ve also been subscribed to some of the styling services this past month, and it has been so fun and enjoyable to get more use out of the pieces in my wardrobe that I do not wear as much or know how to style. Truly loving this app!
Account creation not working
Hoping to revise this review shortly! When you download the app and click “sign in with email”, the verification link takes you to browser, which is supposed to redirect to the app, but just opens a stagnant webpage. So I’m not actually able to access the app. Excited to get started when it’s fixed though!
Excellent Wardrobe App
Use it to plan outfits, understand my purchasing habits, and see how new purchases will fit in to my current closet! I’ve been using for a month and found it invaluable.
