Get Sum is a beautiful, personal, and lightweight shopping list app built with iOS design guidelines in mind. It’s as simple as carrying around a physical shopping list. Key features: - Interactive Widgets for your Home and Lock Screens (with StandBy support) - Shortcuts to add new items and more (for the Action Button, Siri, and Widgets) - Dedicated Watch app - Smart item addition (“3 x apples”, “honey $2”, or “2 apples, oranges, and 3 pears”) - Automatically add categories, and stores to items - Add store locations to get notified of relevant items in your list when entering the associated store’s specified location - Navigate to the associated store if it contains a location (with driving and walking options) - Navigate to stores in AR - Fridge to store past items for quickly adding them back again - Assign quantities, prices, categories, stores, notes, reminders to items - Set up custom categories and stores - Running total of potential spend and actual spend - Total spend limits to cap the list to your budget - Various sort and filter options - Reminders and notifications - iCloud sync to keep your list shared across all your devices - Print or share lists - Themes and tints to make the app your own - Floating ‘new item’ button that can be dragged to different positions (with pull-down gestures to create new items) - Context menus for quickly performing item actions - Swipe actions for quickly performing quantity additions and deletions - Home Screen Quick Actions - Fully accessible with dynamic type, dark mode, and VoiceOver support If you have any questions or feedback, please get in touch. Get Sum was created by an incredibly small team of one and I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m available through Twitter @JPEGuin.
Unusable
Way too buggy. Items remove themselves. Item names cannot be edited, even if left blank. Categories remove themselves. It constantly prompts you to pay for it, but it is literally not functional as a grocery list manager. The only reason I gave it an extra star is because the design looks nice. Maybe the functionality will match it one day.
Nice 2.0 update
Apple Watch app displays no items. As such it’s become unusable for me. A shame because I believe this had real potential to be the shopping app that ruled them all. Hopefully after breathing new life into the app, it not be abandoned, like so many potentially great apps have. 🤞 Previous update: Nice update. Can see you’ve been hard at work making improvements. Like what I see so far. There are a few bugs (including here because I couldn’t find a support link in the app) and I wanted to give you some feedback, mostly positive. First the bugs. When you go to add a new item when a filter is selected it doesn’t show on the interface. But an entry is created that you can’t see until you remove the filter (select None). Note: When a filter is selected I think the desired behavior would be to create a new item with the filter criteria added within the item itself. For example, if you picked a store filter, new items created with the filter selected should add each item with that store filled in on the item. The other bugs I saw involve the widgets. If you are in the US the total goes to the top in US dollars, but the individual items display the currency in British pounds. Also the total displayed on top of the widget doesn’t seem to be accurate. It doesn’t show the total of the entire list, nor the total of the filtered list. I think the desired behavior should be to use the total of the current filter, if any, otherwise display the total of the entire shopping list. The improvements are appreciated. And makes me want to give a relook to your app which I had high hopes for previously. Glad you are putting energy into it. It is a unique shopping app. And feels good to use. Simple with the right amount of features to not overcomplicate or overwhelm the user. I love the subtle colored hues in the UI, very pleasing to the eye. And the “magic” features are a nice touch. Few other things old love to see would be to add some different app icons to choose from, ideally with different shopping list icons and various colors to choose from. And an additional URL field for shopping online would be cool too. I haven’t tested the Apple Watch app yet but am looking forward to it. My subscription is coming up quickly — and your recent update is encouraging me to renew for another year. Thanks for the work.

Had high hopes
Wanted to love this and bought the year subscription. Hasn't been updated in a long time until recently, which shows some promise that it is still being developed. The last time I used it months and months ago, the major issues were the sync and apple watch. The apple watch app never was usable. The sync between devices was haphazard — and inconsistent. I may retry the app and test it again. You may also want to consider upgrading the icon, as a contain of milk is uninspiring, and isn't going to attract plant-based customers. Just some food for thought ... I hope to be see continued life into this project. Thanks for listening.
Gem w/ few rough edges
# Get Sum Feature Requests & Review # Gem w/ few rough edges Poor reviews I'm sure are from a young version, the issues of which appear mostly rectified as the app has improved. ### Favorite Aspects - Beautiful, stunning interface design - Clever UI like the movable plus button for adding new items — which I've never seen before - Great filtering and sorting options - Includes Notes, Prices and Quantities - Cool ability to assign each store a Location which will update your list depending on where you are shopping (haven't tested yet) - Colorful theme and tint choices - Handy widgets including Lock Screen - All Apple platforms supported - Apple Watch app - Very reasonable subscription pricing ### iPhone App Issues & Enhancements - "Total" should be adjusted for Remaining total as things that are checked off the list. You could have both — a total of all items and a remaining balance. List Total $ / Remaining $ - Delete really moves items to the Fridge. A different name than Delete might be appropriate. - Button or navigation element that takes you directly to Fridge screen without first having to navigate to the Settings > Fridge. - You should be able to rename Fridge to "In Stock" or something else because obviously not every item you purchase is going into the fridge. Or perhaps you could map the categories to a location where the items it contains are to be stored — like Frozen, Vegetables, Prepared Foods and Beverages —> to the Fridge. Dried Foods and Canned to "Pantry," Toiletries —> to "Bathroom," etc. And custom categories could be mapped to a location chosen by user. - Speaking of categories — user categories aren't shown alphabetically when you go to select one. And the hidden default categories still show up in the category selection option. - When adding a new item it should remember the previously chosen category (and notes) instead of having to go to the "Fridge" to add it from there. The "magic features" I thought would take care of this, but for some reason they don't - Sort by Flag option — so your important items could move to the top of the list. - Search option. Be useful the larger your list gets. - Bug: Stores aren't synced between devices. The items display the store in the list but when you go to add a store or change a store on an item the store names are empty. - Filter name at the top of the screen — i.e., so you can see which store you are filtering on between launches - New items added when filter is on should take on the attribute of the active filter. For example if you are filtering by a Store, the new item should automatically assign the store to that item - A URL field for linking to online purchases, I.e., Amazon - Multiple colorful and inspiring app icons to choose from 🙏 ### Apple Watch enhancements and bug - Bug: Doesn't load at all — get message "please open app on phone to add first item" — or something to that effect (when already have a list) - Filtering options by Store, Category, etc., like the iPhone app — this would be useful when shopping at different stores so you can access the list for each specific store, rather than having one long list (or have to get out your phone) - Display total of items which updates when you change the filter — like the iPhone app. Each store or category, etc., would have a relevant total depending on the selected filter. - Continued support for Watch OS 8 🙏 (Those of us with a series 3 can't upgrade to 9 or higher) - Watch Complications So I would definitely keep an eye on this app. It is beautiful, unique, clever and has loads of potential.

Developer releases buggy apps
All apps by this developer are full of bugs. Why pay subscription for something that isn’t working as it’s supposed to? And he is infamous for abandoning his apps after some time
