What happened?
I’ve been using this app for years and loved it. Before this latest update, 5 stars easy! It was easy and fast. What changed? Something small, but important. I used to use it as a concordance. Input a word and every verse using that word pops up. There also USED TO BE a list of books off to the right. That way, if you knew what book you were looking for you could jump right to it. Now you have to scroll through sometimes hundreds of verses. What happened? I’ll be looking for my new favorite Bible app.
My Favorite Bible App
This app has just the right combination of features which makes it a joy to use. However, after the last update, the problem with the "blank screen" on startup has reappeared. I expect the last page that I was reading to display, but it's a blank screen. I have to find the page again in order to resume reading. Please make this app great again!
Bring back the old
Went to read my bible today. It went right to the bookmarked page as usual, but when I try to delete the old bookmark, it pops me right out of the app., effectively rendering the bookmark feature useless. Please bring back the old version, where I can mark where I left off.
Verse Wise, Easiest to Access, Navigate, Love RSV Versiom
I have been given many bibles, including RSV. But, I find myself wanting to read the Bible and one is not available. So, an electronic version appeals to me. I have researched many electronic versions of the Bible. Some were difficult to find the books of the Bible, others crowded me with their theological bent, some only had one translation. Verse Wise is easy to find the book/verse I want, the translation I want, and is convenient: I have always wanted to read Psalms but was put off because there was so many of them. But, with Verse Wise on my iPhone, I could read a few on my subway ride. When I reopened it on the next ride, Verse Ride remembered where in the Psalms I last read . So, I could continue my reading the next day or next week. After years of using, I found that one could access reading plans or get version with Early Church Fathers writings! I highly recommend Verse Wise. When searching for it type “verse” instead of “Bible” and Verse Wise will appear in App Store or on your installed on your iPhone or other electronic device.
Sacrilegious!!!
If I could give it NONE I would. There are whole scriptures missing!!! It's disgusting to pick apart the Holy Scriptures!!!
Highlights haven’t worked properly for over a year; developer is slow to fix bugs
Over the past year I have emailed the developer, notifying him of bugginess in the functionality of the highlighter feature. He’s responded saying he’d fix it in the next update. However, after more than a year, after a recent update the highlights still don’t work properly. (They disappear when moving to the next chapter.) Overall this is a well-conceived Bible app. It’s a great translation, and the design and functionality, especially regarding the organizing and tagging of bookmarks, is just great. However, this has made developers inability or unwillingness to fix bugs that much more disappointing. I hope they can polish this app for future releases.
Why was this dropped from the Ipad.?
I had this app on both my iPhone and my Ipad and used it for classroom work. The Iphone app still works but the IPad app no longer shows up nor can I now reload it as it appears to be available for the Iphone and IPod only. How do I get it back? :-(
