United States*** This has been branded as an Official U.S. Army app *** The app is designed to help Army Vehicle recovery personnel in the operational environment. This app incorporates all the rigging, sling leg force, and Mire formulas taught at the recovery school in one easy to reference application. This allows the recovery operator more freedom and accuracy in making decisions before implementing the rigging process. Recovery operators all over the Army have being taught about the basic formulas of recovery. Only a few ever implement it, because often times you don't remember the formulas or it takes too long. This app gives you everything you need to know to make an informed decision before hooking up your rigging.
Has incorrect data and does not work
This the ultimate "buyer beware" situation. I have been skeptical of TRADOC mobile apps from the moment I had the unfortunate task of using one. All have been poorly designed and mostly pointless. This one is an exception - it isn't pointless. But unfortunately it's poorly designed. I spoke to some contacts because I was concerned, since this is TRADOC mobile apps, that the app may not have the correct data. Sure enough, an OD colleague confirmed there was a newer version of this app developed by CASCOM that was made at the specific request of the Ordnance Corps. They requested this because the TRADOC app has incorrect data. And TRADOC was made aware of this issue. Yet somehow the app remains on the store?? This is a potential safety and cost concern for the Army. Should soldiers try to use this app vs the correct one, they will likely not be able to recover a vehicle appropriately. I have half a mind to report this up the chain, but perhaps a review would get TRADOC to do the right thing and take it down. Honestly, TRADOC needs to stop making apps altogether. They are NOT good at it. It's such a shame. What a waste of money.

This is nice for winch outs. Will be nice if you add how to hook up to vehicles with the attachments on the stingers of 1089's and 984's. Sometimes we forget that stuff too.
