This app is designed to work with Filament-enabled print Bibles. It is not a Bible app—it is a unique print + digital Bible experience. Filament enhances your print Bible with the powerful capabilities of your iPhone or iPad. You get the comfortable reading experience a print Bible can offer along with instant access to more meaningful content than you’ll find in any one study Bible or devotional Bible. Native digital content like streaming audio, informative videos, and interactive maps are directly connected to your Bible reading experience in a way never before possible! With your physical Bible open, use the Filament Bible app to simply scan the page you are reading with your device’s camera. Your iPhone or iPad recognizes the page and instantly connects you to content centered around that passage. You'll get access to in-depth study notes, profiles of key people mentioned on the page, articles about important themes, devotionals, streaming audio, videos, and interactive maps that will help you really get a feel for the world of the Bible. Filament also includes the opportunity to build your daily Bible reading habit with reading plans, designed to give you a simple list of the pages you need to read to keep on track with your Bible reading goals, whether it is to read through the entire Bible or just to get a sense for what the Bible says about a key topic. Our prayer is that Filament will be a faithful companion as you engage with God through the Bible!
Great app
If you purchase the hard copy of the Filament Bible, then you can download this app, and then scan the icon in the first page (app leads you through this). Then when reading the Bible , there is an icon on each page which you can scan with the app. You will then have notes that pertain to the section, related maps, and also audio Bible for the version which is free (don’t have to pay additional fee since you already bought the app, thank you!). I like this integration a lot. It gives me a smaller Bible, because the notes are offline from hard copy giving my Bible a reasonable size even with giant print. The maps in the app have some interaction in highlights in them of significant events which you can then tap and examine more thoroughly. Hopefully they continue to develop and support this app because it’s very useful!
A grate study tool
I mainly just use the study notes part of it while I’m take my own notes. I like how you can use this to have a devotional with the chapter you’re reading on and you can just learn a lot and study more from the resources they gave you on this app.
This is app is not for Premium Value Thinline🙁
I love my NLT Large Print Bible but honestly this app is not for it, which is kind of disappointing. Please make an app for this version of the Bible.
Need perfect scanning of codeine app to make work
You have to have uncanny abilities to get your phone to read the code to take you to the proper place. I’m talking precision positioning. This totally defeats the point of calling something easy to use. Because you can’t use it in the first place! If Tindale can prove me wrong, I will retract my statement and give a higher review rating
Battery drain
I opened it first time earlier, didn’t have bible handy so I could not scan code. Apparently the app didn’t close itself in the background and the reason why I lost 60% battery in 2-3 hours was the app was open the whole time. It used battery for the whole hour for a couple hours. No background activity. I’ll keep the app until I determine how helpful it is but beyond that I have BLB and Catana to use for bible apps that don’t slaughter my battery health. Improving this area would be very beneficial for the app.
Disappointed
Bible is great but filament will not recognize my filament supposedly enabled Bible. I was really looking forward to using the app. Please take filament page out of the NLT Thin Line Reference as app will not work with this Bible.
App rarely works
Needs a lot of further development. Pretty frustrating when you think your getting a "study bible" also. Look elsewhere.
Fixed a few bugs and resolved a mismatched language issue in some scenarios.
