Displays the current date according to the Discordian (or Erisian) Calendar, as described in Principia Discordia. It shows the current season, day of the week and year, and includes the eleven official Discordian holidays. The Discordian Calendar is composed of five seasons of 73 days each: Chaos, Discord, Confusion, Bureaucracy, and The Aftermath. It is aligned with the Gregorian calendar, with Chaos 1 always matching January 1st. Year 1 in the Discordian Calendar is equivalent to year 1166 BCE in the Gregorian calendar. The Discordian Calendar is also divided in weeks of five days each (Sweetmorn, Boomtime, Pungenday, Prickle-Prickle, and Setting Orange). In addition, once every four years (on leap years in the Gregorian calendar), one extra day is added to the Discordian Calendar between Chaos 59 and Chaos 60, matching February 29th. This day (known as St. Tib's Day) does not fall in any of days of the week.
5 Stars
A star for every day of the week. 😀
Hail Eris
All hail Discordia. This app works perfectly. It doesn't push things at you, or have ads or anything. I love this app, wish more were like it, and hope it never changes.
brilliant
just started reading Principia Discordia, and it blew my mind that theres an app for this.. i hope you fixed the issue that other people were having with St Tibs day
Oh boy, now She's angry!
Guys, Fix this post haste. You're ahead a day.
Inexcusable
Doesn't account for leap years. Therefore, in leap years, such as 2012, the calendar is ahead by one day for all dates after St. Tibs Day. Of course, this also effects the day of the week and, to a lesser extent, the seasons. A simple enough thing to debug before putting in the wild.
