Great Progtram!

This study is either very basic or very complex, you have the choice in which you want to be. Any study software that we purchzse will have certain packages to purchase. The more scholarly , the more expense. Reference books cost a lot. The great about Olive Tree is you can buy the volumes you want little by little, rather than all at once. Logos cost over 1000, for what I have in Olive Tree. And I would have no choice as to particular volumes. Here we do and it won't cost that much at all, because you buy only what you want. You can't go wrong with Olive Tree and you can

A great app for preachers

Bible study is one of the better apps in the Apple app store. I have it on my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro, and my Mac mini. It seems to be running continuously because I use it frequently. The search tools are unsurpassed. If there is a drawback it is in the cost have some of the research materials. However, compared to buying them in a bookstore the cost is negligible. Install it, work it, read it, learn it, and Love it!

Bible Study is an excellent Bible app however:

UPDATE 3/27/23: The developers still have not addressed the below stated issue. To the Olive Tree developers: Please fix this problem. Yes, the app is free, but when you ask for the high dollar cost of much of your material that interfaces nicely with Bible Study, your users expect an app of high quality. The unpleasant, tedious fact that changes do not hold and must be done over and over and over is unfortunate. Why not fix this and produce an app that deserves all the high ratings…… My initial review: The app is designed such that changes one makes do not “stick”. For example, every time you open a new window one must adjust the margins. EVERY TIME! Why not adjust once and those changes also apply for all future windows. Just like when you determine a font for a specific type of window. Another example: every time you open the library it always defaults to “All Books”. So if you wish to pull up your Favorites, I must do this EVERY TIME. Another example of this issue; the Tools and Notes right side window is an excellent resource, but every time you open it, it defaults to the Resource Guide. If I want to instead see the “My Stuff” section I must select it EVERY TIME. In other words, most of the changes one makes to the app must be done over and over and over. There are many more examples of this type of issue. And if you use the app alot, after awhile this problem becomes an unnecessary burden. If the app developers are listening please correct this issue.

I love it and do my bible reading from it.

The value of the Bible Study app, is that I can read, but I can also explore the text, and gain insight into how the meaning of the text is shaped. Some of the Bibles and concordances and dictionaries are tied to each other through Strongs numbers, or from the original languages. I am not great at the original languages so the ability to look things up AS I read the text is very helpful to me. And I can get what I want at the price of each resource rather than having to buy a huge package with resources that don't mean much to me. I like that when I take notes they sync to all my devices. So I can chew on the text and its meaning all day long. I need that, for my wandering soul.

use as my main bible

I have been using this bible app as my main bible even while in church service. I really enjoy the app except recently, it won't allow me to look up any reference material on the mobile part of the app. Not understanding why this one day just stopped but other than that, I love using it.

Wish it would resemble Windows, iOS or Android's App more on Mac

I've had this on multiple devices and Operating Systems, and I have to say Windows has probably been my favorite experience. Mac seems to only allow drop down menus as opposed to grids, and in parallel mode, Favorites aren't selectable (at least not I can tell). Thus in parallel mode, I have to go and find, alphabetically, my favorites. Sometimes, I just open separate windows with right-clicking from my favorite menu on the sidebar. However, the Windows Desktop feels more polished (although I no longer use Windows). Even the Android feels a bit more navigable than Mac's desktop app. I love Olive Tree, I'm bought in, but I just wish the Mac App would be given a polish like the Windows counterpart enjoys.

The Desktop App is... okay...

To start off I do prefer using the desktop to my phone when it comes to this app, however there are just things that the mobile app does better that I would like see implimented into the desktop version. One audio books, I've purchased a few on the app and if there is a way to listen to them on the desktop I can't seem to find it. Another thing is mass annotation move, on the moblie app I can select multiple highlights, notes, and then move them into a collection folder for organizing. On the desktop I seem to have to do this individually. It might be nice to have the option asked where to save highlights while highlighting. I think it is great that the mobile app is such a great experience and ease to use, I would like to see more attention brought to the desktop version more quickly I guess. All in all this is the bible app I most recomment using to everyone.
