YouTrack Mobile is compatible with YouTrack 2020+. YouTrack is a project management tool designed for agile teams. YouTrack is used by more than 75,000 teams across the world, providing them with one tool for all their project management needs. It helps teams to track tasks, plan and manage projects, collaborate on boards, track progress with reports and dashboards, and keep important information together in a Knowledge Base. YouTrack Mobile app lets you stay on track with your tasks while you’re on the go: • Easily work with your projects and tasks from anywhere. You can create, view, and update them, in addition to adding images and other files. • Stay on track with real-time notifications about activity in your tasks and projects. • Contact team members and collaborate directly with them; just use @ to mention your colleagues in the issue’s comments. • View and organize your boards. • Browse, read, edit, or comment on articles in the Knowledge Base. • Choose between light and dark themes. Definitely functional, but needs to catch up with the web version.
I wish it were as powerful as opening the browser version on Safari... Lacks a lot of the features present on the non-App Store version.
Finally
Finally an App I can use. I feel like this app is so great for my workflow because I don’t want to be on my computer all the time so this is a great substitute. I still think I can use some improvement but this app definitely doesn’t deserve all the hate it’s getting
Frustrating and Unreasonably Limited
I love JetBrains, and YouTrack on web is great, but this app feels like it was designed entirely on a whiteboard. Missing functionality (e.g. no dashboards, overly cumbersome to accomplish basic things like deleting issues) and missed opportunities (e.g. issue list has no swipe, no long-press commands, and no multi-select) make for a frustratingly tedious experience. It has an entire view dedicated to Agile boards with “swimlanes” - at first it seems difficult to drag issues around, but there’s a zoom button that makes this much easier. (There should really be a mini-tutorial for this!) My biggest gripe however is that they didn’t include the backlog, and there’s no obvious way to move issues to the current sprint. Adding multi-select as I mentioned above would remedy this. Every time you change a field, the app pauses while it syncs with the server. As a result, attempting to change a bunch of things in one go feels very tedious and slow. Things like pressing a tiny X to back out makes it that much harder. Linking issues is missing parent-child link creation for some reason. It’s also the kind of thing I’d like to do at the issue-list level, not deep inside an individual issue’s top-right menu. The devs desperately need to use this in a real world project and iterate on the functionality! I apologize if I’m mistaken on this presumption, but it truly feels that way to me right now. I’m also trying this on iPhone 12, not iPad, so it could be that some functionality is hidden here. Even so, I think dashboards are super important on mobile, and should be available on both. TL;DR: It’s not snappy, but you can probably use this app decently as a developer right now, whereas for project management I think it’s completely unusable. I’d be happy to update this review in response to improved functionality. Thanks.
Please make this app better
I really want to like and use this app, but there are severe limitations and that push me back to using YouTrack through a browser. To be clear, I use this app on an iPad. 1. Why are none of the panels I created in the browser version for my dashboard available in the app? These are essentially predefined searches that show me at a glance the progress my team is making. Why do I need to recreate them again here? 2. On long tickets with many comments, screenshots, etc, this mobile app just falls flat. The media doesn't load right and the entirety of the ticket may or may not load at all.
Unusable with internal CA issued TLS cert
The app just fails with a terrible error message “Network request failed” when YouTrack is using a TLS cert from an internal CA, despite that cert being loaded into iOS.
Needs much improvement
Youtrack is a good product but I can't say the same for the mobile app, there's hardly any functionalities to match the site.
Works good once I figured out what URL to enter
