A promising start
I picked this app up mostly on the strength of its design, which I think is very striking. I like the “status card” with information on each of the corners, and I like that completed tasks don’t clutter up your today view but are also easily accessible in just a tap or two, without having to go to some submenu or something. That said, Today App is a little bare bones in terms of its features, even for an app that supposed to help you focus on a relatively narrow set of tasks. Also, it seems like when you set a reminder, there’s no way to check on it or cancel it? I thought my reminders for a particular task weren’t going through at first, only to get four notifications at once later in the day. I wouldn’t say that I regret being an early adopter, but I’m definitely curious to see how this app grows. In the meantime, it’s a sleek, stylish app that serves its intended purpose!
Forces you to focus on Today.
There are still a lot of room for enhancements on this app, but the best part of a productivity app like this is that it only allows you to work on today - which I feel like is the point of the app. Other productivity apps like Sorted and Things have a lot of room for customization and sometimes when I use them I get off track and start planning my whole life. I like to use this app to quickly write down the 3 or 4 things I need to get done today and use it to hold me accountable. The UI is also great and easy to get familiar with.
