Needs Field for Expiration Dates
I would love to be able to add the expiration date to each pantry item and then get a reminder to use it before that date.
Great first impression
Just downloaded this, and am really enjoying adding food and categories. I would absolutely be over the moon if I could share my list with my husband who does most of the cooking/grocery shopping in the household. That would be the icing on the cake for me — hopefully that function will be released soon!
Thank you.
I am delighted to hear of your hard work to make this app even better. Thank you for your response to my questions! I look forward to using the very helpful app improvements that are coming.
A bit more order?
I like this app very much (organization is my life), but I would like to arrange the products by category, not just the product name. If that update comes along my four star app will go to five. Thanks. Rickapolis
Question.
I really love the concept of your app and started setting up my pantry items. It became a very tedious task after I scanned multiple bar codes and had to fill in the name of each product and take a picture of each. I was so interested before, when I assumed scanning a barcode would automatically bring up all the pertinent info for each item. I’m now finding that having to fill in so much info manually is kind of driving me crazy. I’m not going back and entering all the products I buy if I have to do so much work. If scanning the bar codes is supposed to bring up information automatically (title, volume, description, picture, even category that could be personalized) and I’m just inept, please let me know. I would love to use the app. I love the concept, but I think of apps as being more like assistants to me rather than me being the assistant to the apps. I just don’t have time to set it all up. If there is a way to have all the product info populate automatically after scanning the bar codes, I would love to know how to make that happen. And I will be properly apologetic for my ineptness. If I can figure all this out, I think it would be great if you to make a notes section for users to use available for each event. BTW, when I tapped your help link, I was transferred to Twitter, which wasn’t any help at all. I couldn’t figure out how to post a Tweet and ask for help there.
Feature request
I’m loving this app. Any chance cloud storage or a way for users to share the data can be an option in a future update? That would give the ability for me and my spouse to use our own phones to keep the pantry updated instead of only using 1 phone for both of us. Keep up the great work.
Awesome idea, but database seems useless
I loved the idea for this app immediately. And the few minutes I played with it I thought it was off to a great start. HOWEVER- I scanned about 20 random barcodes from items ranging from Starbucks coffees to Larabar to milk and more, and not a single one of the items was in their database! I tried adding the first one manually, along with the picture and more, it was tedious and actually it closed the screen before it seems to have been added! I gave a few stars to the developer for the concept and the beginnings of a great app, but I have little interest in essentially having to build up their database from scratch. Compared to just writing down my shopping list this is SO much more work. I hope the developer finds some place(s) with a robust database to integrate into this app and I’ll gladly add it to my personal “essentials” applications. But for now it’s failing at the one single most important thing it needs in order to have value to end users. I was to point and click and just tell it how many I have remaining of such items and how many I want to maintain. Kudos for the progress- now get yourself a database with as little need to “manually” enter anything as possible and this can be a winner. Check out the way Amazon and Fitness Pal are so great at determining just about anything from a barcode and that should be the target for this app.
Version 1.5.0 introduces the ability to manually add pantry items without scanning barcodes, this version also allows for the editing of Item IDs, for more control over your products!
