Sonic Mobile Communicator is a communications 'soft' client, meaning you can use your new Sonic phone number through your existing cell phone. It can be used on a cell phone or tablet, providing a convenient, intuitive way to take your new phone number with you while you're on the go.
Mom is still able to call
Mom is 94 and lives in Europe. She hasn't quite caught on to those newfangled cell phones, so she uses the old landline number when she calls. Sonic Mobile Communicator allows me to receive those calls, no matter where I am in the world. The Communicator app works so well that I have literally cut the old telephone line to the power pole outside the house. The old landline phones have been recycled. Sonic is amazing in every way. Lucky to live in an area that they cover!

Turn off incoming calls?
Sonic is awesome. I love the option of being able to call out with my business number from my personal cellphone. But I really really wish I could turn off incoming calls! Pretty please with sugar on top?
My previous negative reviews have been removed
…but I will just keep coming back to say: Worst phone service I’ve ever had the misfortune to be saddled with by a company. Call quality is so poor I have to call back every caller from my cell phone. App is unusable: clunky, terrible UI, and won’t allow us to transfer calls. Laptop interface is like a website designed in the late ‘90’s. Voicemails that are supposed to be transcribed are gibberish. Notifications are delayed if they even come at all. Laptop interface is like a website designed in the late ‘90’s. It’s not that it’s inconvenient- which it is. It’s that it’s detrimental to business, and makes us look unprofessional. Never have I so loathed an app or service so intensely that I’ve been motivated enough to come back and replace my previous reviews. I believe the other positive reviews must come from employees of Sonic; I have yet to meet a real human person who thinks this is a functional solution to a businesses communication needs. This is my sincere and honest opinion after giving this an open mind for many months. If this review is also deleted, I promise that not only am I petty enough to copy this text and save it in case I need to replace it again, next time I’ll encourage my equally frustrated coworkers to share their own honest reviews of a service and app that is negatively impacting our bottom line.
IPod touch
Do not use a cell phone. This app enables me to with Wi-Fi call out and receive calls conveniently. So far it’s functionality seems quite good. It however does not enable SMS texting, so I am restricted to iOS users for that functionality, a separate app of course. I am a big fan of Sonic because they are straightforward and very responsive with customer support.
Not working as expected
App support link is broken on the app store. App won't usually let me make a call from my phone, just tries and then disconnects. I don't always hear my phone ring but am then notified of a message. Seems to have worked for the first few days, although couldn't make calls, but was able to receive them. I haven't received a call in a week but received notification of a message, which means it didn't allow my shop phone to ring. Not happy with this at all.
