Used to be good. Bring back a Mac app
This product used to be good when there was a stand along Mac app. Using the Mac and iOS app together was terrific. Dropping the Mac app and making an extension really ruined the experience. If the developer would bring back a stand along Mac app again I would continue using Raindrop.io.
Don't like the Mac Extention
I liked of the old Safari extention, but they changed it and now requires you to click on search to see bookmarks. Please give us back the old interface.
Better than LinerPDF for usability.
In terms of usability, Raindrop is the best app I have found for collecting and highlighting web pages. I used to use LinerPDF for highlighting until Raindrop aquired this function. Now I use Raindrop only, b/c it is very good for highlighting, and also great for collecting and curating links. Also, I find its user interface to be better and more useful. I don't have an opinion security and privacy. I also don't really worry that much.
unreliable, unresponsible and suspicious
This is not my impression, but this is what they confess in their Terms of Service: "You agree to use the Service at your own risk" security and functionality is your problem, not theirs: "Raindrop.io does not warrant that... the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.. the use of the service will be accurate or reliable...any errors in the Service will be corrected." you pay in advance but they dont need to deliver: "(iii) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (iv) statements or conduct of any third party on the service; (v) or any other matter relating to the service." they can disable your account to unburden their systems: "your bandwidth usage significantly exceeds the average bandwidth usage (as determined solely by Raindrop.io) of other Raindrop.io customers, we reserve the right to immediately disable your account or throttle your file hosting until you can reduce your bandwidth consumption."
Doesn't Work
Raindrop is pretty much one of my favorite apps and works flawlessly on mobile and on Chromium browsers, but the Safari version is fundamentally broken. Trying to use it just prompts you to sign in over and over again, even after you've already signed in. Please fix!
needs to be like ios app where u can use share extensions
no share extension,
terrible new version
Was a big fn until they dropped the mac companion app and changed the extension interface to require a separate search click to show all th bookmarks. No support for keyboard navigation and does not remember previous / most recent category which makes it a pain to use.
- Improve highlighting - Fix issue when extension save dialog just close automatically on some linux distros - Fix hotkey visibility for extension welcome page
