QNAP Authenticator is a free app that adds an extra layer of security to your accounts by using your mobile device to verify your login. You can authenticate your identity using 2-Step Verification or Passwordless Login and choose from multiple verification methods. 【Requirements】 - QNAP NAS running QTS 5.1.0 (or later) - iOS 14 (or later) 【Major features of QNAP Authenticator】 - Supports 2-Step Verification and Passwordless Login - Supports scanning a QR code to quickly add an account - Supports the following verification methods: 1.Login Approval: Approve a login request with just a tap 2.QR Code: Scan a QR code to verify a login request 3.Online Verification Code: Receive a code sent from your QNAP device for verification 4.Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP): Generate a code automatically renewed for verification Login Approval, QR Code, and Online Verification Code require a connection to your NAS, whereas TOTP can work offline. This method also supports verifying third-party accounts from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, GitHub, and other service providers that have implemented their authentication following the TOTP standard.
Works well enough...
This works well enough. If you need two factor authentication, I prefer using generic Google Authenticator apps, but this app is decent and provides protection via TouchID or FaceID. Two factor auth on QNAP admin accounts is critical.
Circular Nightmare!!🤬
During installation and initialization of my brand new, NAS I kept getting prompts to do two-step verification, for signing onto it for which I gave into eventually. The nightmare began!!! At first I used my mobile device SMS, which worked fairly well. But then Qnap kept prompting to use Authenticator for better security. I decided why not? Despite the low rating on the App Store, did it anyways. I have an iPad and an iPhone, and installed this app on both, so I can verify logging into each one. when logging into one a code was requested. Somehow I was no longer logged into the AUTHENTICATOR app, Which requires an Authenticator code as well since the circular frustration. I needed an authenticator code to log into the Authenticator app and couldn’t get one because I needed to verify with an authenticator code. Try making sense of that!! After multiple tries, I got blocked out of logging into my NAS and was prompted to wait 24 hours. Needless to say, I disabled two step verification. FOR GOOD 🤬🥵🥵😤
垃圾!赶紧换回去啊!太垃圾了!!!!!
垃圾,垃圾!登录越来越费劲!登录验证一直刷新不出来!!!输入验证码也不对!!!!!太垃圾!官方是不是就没有测试啊!
Overwriting accounts
I can’t add two different nas where I have the same accounts names, after adding second is overwritten the first one account. A piece of crap…
Bricked my NAS
Lost sync within 24 hours had to reset- my network connections all lost with custom settings…. now reinitializing my nas because of this app force fed by qnap. Great job guys making me want to go back to synology

[Fixed Issues] - Fixed an issue where QNAP Authenticator on some devices could not recognize the QR codes that were generated for exporting multiple TOTP accounts from QNAP Authenticator iOS. [Other Changes] - Added new information to comply with regional policies.
