Buggy Mess
Sounded great, and free version seemed nice. Glad I chanced just the month sub to start. This thing is a terrible mess. Imported links from Safari. Caused multiple crashes, wouldn’t load all cards, wouldn’t load images to all cards. Tried sharing which did absolutely nothing. The MacOS version has all kinds of issues, including it has random counts that don’t match anything in the menu drawer. Syncing either doesn’t work or is beyond slow across multiple devices. And the Tips and Tricks are dead/blank pages with nothing available to help you try and understand what’s going on. Wondering if abandoned app, but either way certainly not worth it.
No Support No Use
I purchased the premium version of this app as a tool to use for work because I'm a concept artist. Unfortunately, the app crashes upon opening it, and I haven't been able to use it in months - even with restarting the computer, reinstalling the app, and installing updates. Neither Apple nor the Pile developers ever got back to my requests for help, so I'm very disappointed overall.
Digital Hoarder Approved!
As a long time digital hoarder, I am constantly struggling with keeping my digital assets organized. My browser bookmarks have long since devolved into a mess of folders and sub-folders that literally manifest physical anxiety any time I try ti find something. Pile has an awesome interface that promotes the initial categorization and tagging of items BEFORE they are saved. This makes all the difference for me. Thanks for a great app with a clean user interface and an incredibly helpful end result.
Nope
Initially, I loved Pile but itʻs incredibly unstable. The app consistently freezes. Iʻm really disappointed because itʻs a phenominal idea and, when it works, looks beautiful.
What a nightmere
Freezes, uploaded bookmarks, over 1000 come in removed from their folders, completely disorganized, can only delete a few at a time, then the app freezes while even attempting this. When you close the app, it relaunches on its own at random intervals. So I deleted the app, but it keep randomly relaunching anyway. Now I know why this was removed from Setapp.
It’s kind of like having your own private Pinterest
Pretty good I hope the development keeps going!
Three Weeks Later
Initially in love with Pile, I purchased the full on version. I really wanted Pile to work. It's supposed to automatically save on cloud but I must have done something wrong. Lost three weeks of work when all of my data disappeared in front of my eyes. I'd exported backups but they didn't import back in. Every attempt to import crashed both the iPad and Mac apps. If I create a new folder (on mac or iPad) I must close and then reopen the app to see it. If I add anything, I must close/reopen the app and maybe I will see the change I've made. Attempts to get a response from the developer haven't worked but, seriously, the developer deserves to have a life. I really wanted this to work & I'm bummed that it didn't. Pile is intuitive to use and visually pleasing. For now, I'm out. I will be back once it's clear Pile is more stable. It's a great beginning for a much needed app.
