Great!
PDF Office Max stands out for a couple of reasons. 1) It provides forms creation and editing, 2) the company charges reasonably priced, one time fixed fees.
Scam.
it advertises that it can build Custom Fillable Forms. Well it doesn't. I have pdf that I tried to turn into a fillable form, couldn't to it with this software. Want my money back. Just waist of time. Very upset.
Warts and All
I’ve moved away from Adobe products and am looking for something to replace Acrobat. Toward that end, I downloaded every PDF editor in the App Store. I found most disappointing. PDF Office Max stands out for a couple of reasons. (1) It provides forms creation and editing and (2) the company charges reasonably priced, one-time fixed fees. I automatically rule out any product based upon a rental/subscription model. As it turns out, most were also deficient. The PDF Office programs have some issues, but the author appears to make regular updates. Most of my stumbling blocks have been the result of its minimalist interface and not being able to figure out how to effect basic functions, such as dropping in a signature. Although the Mac guide is a welcome starting point, documentation is thin and some of the tiny icons in the menu bar have no description when hovering. Entering ‘signature’ into help yields no help at all. Tiny problems give the product a hurried feel that could be cured with small effort. Handling of graphics is sketchy. It doesn’t seem to allow pasting in graphics and it doesn’t appear to handle vector images at all (.eps, .ai, .svg). A Place command would be exceedingly useful. I can’t tell if the Q selector (lasso) does anything at all after circling elements on a page. I’m unclear how it’s used. Operations regarding complete pages (move, delete, etc) using thumbnails is intuitive and works nicely. Support of forms is good, although a few small things should be addressed. For example, the name of a field appears in the bottom part of the dialogue box rather at the top where one would expect it. Certain fields such as dates don’t allow for a name at all. Another small thing is that some widgets and fields have an opaque white border that obliterates anything underneath. A transparent option would be helpful. After testing the other PDF editors, I mass-deleted all but two. Because I still haven’t figured out how to add a signature, I retained one other editor solely for signing purposes. Also, the Preview program that comes with the Mac has some complementary editing features including adding signatures. I trust PDF Office has the ability to place signatures, although I haven’t found it. After trying all PDF editors in the store, I purchased the Office Max version on spec– trusting improvements will appear. Despite imperfections, it’s arguably the top PDF editor in the App Store.
Electronic Signatures Don't Port Over
I receive documents from HR that are signed by others before they get to me. When I open the documents using this product, the other electronic signatures disappear. I now cannot use this product and would like a refund.
pdf to Word conversion requires file upload
if you have sensitive documents to convert from pdf to Word this is not the app you need. Your file must be uploaded to their server, where the conversionb occurs, then it is downloaded back to your computer.
