Found the one
I have tried a LOT of different GTD software, I have gone to the ends of the earth looking for "the one", that one piece of software that actually fits with how my brain seems to work and how I go about doing things. I always avoided this piece of software, not only did it seem more complicated than it needed to be (at least without trying it), but the cost seemed a bit much. After giving up on Things and Tick Tick, I finally decided to give it a try with the free trial... its free afterall. Within 2 days of using omnifocus, I knew I had found it. One dealbreaker feature I needed and absolutley cannot live without it the ability to add tasks easily to my inbox from my apple watch, which this app supports beautifuly. The ability to neatly organize tasks into folders and projects, as well as the location/tag based action list has also grown on me so much I don't think I could live without it at this point. I also wanted the ability to see all of my tasks (via the projects view) whether they were active/inactive, repeating/single items (I organize them into folders for "standalone items" and "routine"). I wanted to see exactly what area of my life they pertain to, when they are deffered until. This is very much so software for a "systems" orientated person. It did have a little bit of a learning curve at first, but holy moly is it powerful once you wrap your head around it.

Sure it may be more of an investment than other task managers, but when you find one as good as this, the output you get more than pays for the cost. Tried others, this one just makes sense, is very well built out, and motivating to use. Thank you, keep improving!
United StatesGreat if you work with Projects, but not for everyone
I have been a long time OF user and if you are the type of person who needs to manage your tasks via projects, OF I feel is the ahead of most other task management tools. The sheer fidelity in which you can classify your projects (under folders and sub folders) and also used nested tags makes the management of a lot of data easy. That being said, OF is not perfect. It functions more like a database than anything else, and the current notes and attachment system is long overdue for some love and improvement. Additionally the current managing of "available" tasks is not elegant and has to be forced using a tag to show up on your Forecast perspective. It would be nice that when you are inside the "Available" or "Start Date" window of a task, that it could show up on a view in the Forecast to let me know that it is a task I can work on.

I used this app for years, but not find that the password syncing between this app and the iPhone/Ipad keeps failing. Tried creating a new account, contacting support. I am a software enginering, this is a bad sign and a clear indicator of a company in trouble. Don't buy this look for alternatives.
United StatesOF For Mac Is the Reason I Stay with OF
While the term "perfect" is subjective the Omnifocus for Mac application is the closest to a perfect task manager app that have found. It is the ONLY reason I have stuck with OmniFocus over many years as the iOS versions have never come close to the level of platform specific perfection as has OF for Mac. I have tolerated OF for iOS becuase of the Mac version's beauty and usability. Please..please...please don't screw up the Mac version as has been done wth OF for iOS v 3 and now v4 (even worse).

I paid a lot of money to get Omnifocus 2 on my phone, tablet, and Mac. And it was great, the Omni group are great developers. BUT they decided to iterate to Omnifocus 3. My app was updated as Omnifocus 2 is no longer supported. And now I have to pay again to use Omnifocus 3?? No way! I'm switching away from Omnifocus because I don't want to keep throwing money in the trash. Great app, too bad I have to keep shelling out money to use it.
