The Miter Angle calculator provides exact angles for cutting cross braces for gates or x bracing for the ends of tables. There are 5 board orientation options to choose from. Just enter the width and height of the opening as well as the width of the boards to be used. Both Imperial and Metric measurements are supported. Each board end as well as the intersection of boards in the middle are displayed with the angles for each, based on data input. In addition, the length of the board required to fit the desired space (pre-cuts) is given. A visual representative image of the cross braces displays upon calculation showing exact miter angles and position of angles. Miter Angle takes the guesswork out of miter cuts allowing you to achieve that perfect fit with cross or x end braces.
Exceeds expectations.
I’m a licensed structural engineer and I’m very happy to find this app! I’m using this app on a home project where I need to provide lateral stability / resistance on a lean-to structure using 2x4 lumber “x” braces. This app works great. Make sure your vertical and horizontal dimensions are to the 1/32 inch accuracy and round up to nearest 1/16. For “THICKNESS” dimension, make sure it’s the dimension IN THE VERTICAL PLANE of the brace. For a 2x4 brace, thickness is 3½, the dimension in the vertical plane of the brace. Works exactly perfectly. I made my measurements with a 10 year old Leica laser distance device that measures to 1/32 inches. Round UP to the 1/16 inch and all works perfectly. Most of my cuts maxed-out my 27 year old miter saw, but the fit-up is perfect. Vertical & horizontal dimensions are critically important.
Amazing
Been looking for this for a while. Nobody could get me an excel sheet made or anything. Now it’s an app. Worth EVERY PENNY.
