Awesome app for developers

I’m a software developer and have been using shortcuts to automate and write simple applications on my phone for years. This app singlehandedly reduced tons of complexity in my shortcuts. So much complexity has been reduced I now find myself writing better, more flexible and capable automations due to the low level of effort it takes to write them. Before I would be discouraged from writing a shortcut because of how long it takes to put together so much logic, even when using other shortcuts as functions to reuse code. Now it takes just a few clicks to get things working how I want. 9/10 - best shortcuts app on the market today. The only gripe I have is there are a few bugs I’ve discovered even in my short amount of time using the app. On iOS 14 on an iPhone 8 Plus, the app crashes intermittently when trying to view nested decks. This is so bad I’m not nesting anything to avoid. I suspect it may have something to do with the number of decks nested. Other than that, I love this app to the nth degree.

Good app, but far too complicated

I’ve been using Shortcuts in-depth for multiple years and considerable myself to be an above-average user. That being said, this app is too complicated even for me. There’s a TON of documentation and I am grateful to the dev for putting it together. However, the problem is that the documentation isn’t really helpful. I have read through it all (believe me—it’s a lot) multiple times and didn’t really learn anything. It tells you what the app does, but doesn’t teach you how to do it. After multiple hours of reading, I still had to teach myself how to use the app, which has been a very slow process. Has me doing a cost-benefit analysis to determine if it’s even worth it to sink more time into the app. One thing I really don’t understand is when you set up a card for a shortcut, it requires you to enter an input to start the shortcut. But, some shortcuts don’t have inputs… I can’t find any way to disable the input or to save without entering an input. I really don’t understand how this could be overlooked considering it’s a crucial component of the app. Overall, I don’t see how the dev expects anyone that is not in the top-tier of power users to use this app. Effort: 5/5 Execution: 2/5 Design: 3/5 Promising idea that fails to realize its true potential due to lack of intuitiveness and the overall difficulty level which are not mitigated or resolved despite lengthy documentation.

It may be good, but...

As a non-coder, average person, I have no clue how this app is supposed to work! Somehow it integrates with my Apple Shortcuts. I cannot even see the option for MFC Deck in my Widgets to the left on my iPad. OK--I found the documentation; but it looks extremely complicated. I don't think it's for the average iPad user such as myself . Oh well...
