Why is the handwriting option in the mindmap overview gone? Without it, the experience is only half as good as it used to be. Any plans to revive it?

The are three apps in this arena: 🏆Margin Note 3 (The Champion) the only one that can TIMESTAMP VIDEOS!!! I pay for the super affordable yearly OCR, it saves my butt when I run into these weird pdfs that for whatever reason, you cannot highlight or copy text from it.. I run into this A LOT with research PDFs and older Books made into PDFs. The fact that you can import a video and then make mind maps from particular sections of the video and whenever you tap on the mind map, it takes you directly to that part of the video… this is chef’s kiss🧑🍳💋 Every feature is so perfect for me, I can go on & on with the perfection that is margin note 3. Instead I’ll focus on it’s shortcomings that I have noticed: 1. When searching keywords in a document or multiple documents, you cannot type in the date. For example I can only search: bone degeneration But say I wanted to search for bone degeneration on a particular date? Say in 2015, unfortunately, I cannot type in: Bone Degeneration, 2015 (nothing comes up) so this means… I have to ‘manually search through every bone degeneration document that appears and locate the 2015 ones. EXTREMELY time consuming if you have 1000’s of documents. 2. Should have auto dark mode that follows iPad / iPhone system settings. Mine are set during they time, it’s in light mode and at night everything goes into dark mode. Because Margin Note 3 does not offer this, I have to ‘manually’ change it all the time. 3. When using margin note 3 in dark mode, it MESSES up any images in color you may have, they end up looking like x-rays, so if I’m studying art, anatomy, architecture or anything with colorful images.. well, you can’t see that image b any more, it turns into an xray. 🥈Liquid Text (2nd Place) —> Recently as of 2023 - 2024, has had a major resurgence, their YouTube channel is SUPER active…. They are showing a lot of lawyers & students using their product in ‘Real Life Use Cases’ and the lawyer showing you a case they worked on, and how they used liquid text used in the case (they literally pull out the document inside liquid text and breakdown all the uses they went through in real world cases, brilliant marketing and shows the power of the software, same with the student. That said.. as I watched these amazing videos, I noticed - they were copying Marginote 3 features - these are features they did not have before. I must admit, Liquid Text has an amazing UI & UX if you download their app, it gently teaches you how to use it, in a very intuitive way, mainly… Because Liquid Text does not drop everything it offers, on you… Rather, they copied game tutorial style, in the sense that… they will not teach you about a feature ‘unless you tap on the said feature’ this is when the person learns, because they are trying to use it. Why such a write up ✍️ from the second place contender? In hopes that Margin Note 3 learns from them, in the way Liquid Text copied from Margin Note 3, but in the following ways: 1. For Margin Note 4 - Simpler UX & Minimalistic UI 2. For Margin Note 4 - Learn from Liquid Text Tutorial, download their app, it’s free, see how they implemented that elegant Tutorial? make sure your next UX & UI hire, has a vision of a tutorial at that same level or better. 2. Wake you YouTube channel, it’s dead, show people using your app in real case scenarios 🥉Flexcil (3rd Place) —> Sadly compare to the above, this is inferior product. That said, I rather enjoyed it’s UX & UI (simple & minimalistic is key!) I say inferior compared to the above, that said this really is an excellent product and would had been number one, if the other two did not exist, what brings Flexcil low, is that they are settled on providing bare minimum features.

I use this app as a tool for studying leaning and analyzing the holy book and it works so well for this purpose. I love the features it has and it’s everything I was looking for but couldn’t find with other annotation apps. I paid for the full version which is so affordable and have no regrets.
