Can no longer open app on MacOS
This review is for the current version of iTranslate. I purchased this app for my macbook a few years ago. I use it to translate Chinese to English as I can't reach Chinese. I use the Chinese voice output function often and it is useful. Now I can't open the app. It last updated on August 15. Nothing happens when I try to open the app. There isn't any information about this under support. I'm on the latest MacOS.
i always preferred this app
i started with the ios app. Then i unlocked the pro features. I really liked it. I use it as a tool, not to have complete conversations for me so i don't have to learn. I like learning languages. Some of them. I like learning about languages. That is more accurate. The only problem is that I keep adjusting my settings on this demon posessed M1 mac. i'm really not a pro anything. Professional. Means about as much as profanity. I'm in the USA and i want to someday bring back the Fanny pack ... well I don't actually but i would want to try, at least in the UK. Because it would be huge like a bucket. The Fanny Bucket... for those days when you just need to tuck away a sloppy wet mess. I think it will work. See, i can't translate words considered profanity although i don't believe anything i typed would be considered so as i am in the USA and those are all innocent statements. I'd like to see much more integrated with idioms and equivalents rather than direct translations. otherwise good job. one of the few apps that has Kreyol or Haitian Creole which is useful in central and south Florida. Also, More spanish dialects like caribbean, PR, DR, Cuba, VZ, COLOMBIA, omg yes ... please. oh .. the mac os app. i just deleted it and the ipadOS app since they install themselves to see if i can install one. again. adjust my settings to not install anything without my permission again and see if that works ... otherwise, i'll be emailing you guys personally ... you still get 6 stars. i'm loyal.
Mobile App - Amazing - Desktop? FAIL
I have rarely found an app from the app store that is so jammed up and failing, it can be completely uninstalled from every inner working moving part of your computer and you start over 3 times - and it still won't even OPEN, only the Activity Monitor can even find it. The mobile app is a god send. Worth every penny - but the entire App over your system is brought down in value, if you cannot sync
Can not read long text
Wow. I paid nearly 9 dollars for an app that can't even read more than 30 seconds of text. Fraud. Total scam.
Basic
It does a good job at translating word for word but not context. I could of saved money by using google.
Consistently Incorrect Translations
Translating between Portuguese and English, in either direction, this gives results that are completely wrong. It's as though it makes guesses based on part of a word.
Not what I expected
So this app adds a menu item and you can translate short phrases. Solength is very limited and it is not at all what I expected. Disappointed.
