A waste of $12
This would be a great little word processor, but it lacks many basic functions, such as the abilty to open a new page in a template – which defeats the whole purpose of templates, since it requires you to go through the process of setting up a new page every time you want to write something. Very annoying. iText Pro can't even open a template or a document from the Dock, which is a standard Mac app function. Even PAGES (Apple's FREE word processor) allows you to open a new page in column view. For a word processor that costs money, this is unacceptable. Also, many of the Preferences don't work. Yet Apple allows defective apps like this on the AppStore – even though they cost money that Apple will not refund. A waste of $12
Love it!
This is what a text editor should be like in my opinion: simple yet efficient, versatile and cute. Easy to change background, format text and save in any way you'd like. Great alternative to Pages and MS Word. I am not going back. Many thanks to creator!
“Unidentified Developer"
Love the app, but every time I open it — and I bought it for speed of use — I get a message saying that it’s from an unidentified developer. I have to go into System Preferences and okay it, even though I bought it from the Apple App Store. Quite annoying!
My personal favorite for years
This has long been my favorite word-processor, with simple and fast operation yet with many options. I was VERY disappointed for a short time when it couldn't initially save files when running on Yosemite, but now that is fixed, and I am back with my longtime favorite.
Excellent Program!
I used iText Express for 6 months and I found myself beginning to use it more than my specialized programs, so I finally decided to go ahead and purchase iTextPro. Already I am loving it. I always try to write with line numbers because it makes editing a longer document so much easier. Not only does iTextPro enable line numbering, but you can also have a document print out with the line numbers. IText Pro works as fast as iText Express and I don't see that beach ball turning when I use the program. I love the document templates and ended up using the US Notepaper most of all, and creating my own template was fairly easy. I adore the gesture which zooms the text in and out but would love it if they added a default zoom to the program preferences since I wear glasses and require a zoom% of 150 to 200 to feel comfortable writing, but until they add it, I'm fine using the gestures. Of course, I always did like the bookmarks, but having layered bookmarks is so much better. Best of all, iTextPro saves to RTF, RTFD, TXT, HTML, ODT, WebArchive, DOC/DOCX, so I can exchange files easily with my friends that still use a PC and MS Office or Open Office. I feel I'm getting my money's worth with this program.
