It is surprising how much you can do in two minutes. One of the key disciplines of the GTD ® process is the 2-minute rule: “Do it. If an action will take less than two minutes, it should be done at the moment it is defined.” So Get Things Done. Respond to emails. Do your online banking. Read an article. Make a phone call. 2 minute timer will help you to learn the skill of judging 2 minute tasks by giving you the simplest possible way to measure how long they take. One tap on the application icon and your 2 minute timer will run. You will see the scroll wheels ticking down to show you how much time you have left. In the spirit of GTD ®, there is an absolute minimum of fuss. One tap will launch the application and start the timer. And of course, you are not limited to 2 minute timers. You can run any length of timer. Your recent choices will even show automatically as shortcuts from the home screen (for devices with force-touch). _____________________________________________ GTD® and Getting Things Done® are registered trademarks of the David Allen Company. Now very hard to see.
What were they thinking? The new screen is blinding bright and mostly empty. The numbers are a faint blue that's quite difficult to read. It will ring after 2 minutes, which I suppose is the point. But don't think you can check at one minute. They could have had bigger, darker lettering, and a less bright background. And the chose this? Don't download the new look. The old one was much better.
Does what it says, desperate for an update
This app does exactly what it says. It provides a two minute timer that restarts at the touch of a button and start counting down immediately. It's perfect for whipping through a series of two minute tasks. That said the interface is a couple of iOS revisions behind, and the alarm sounds are similarly outdated.
Desperately Needs an Update
This is a good GTD 2-min timer, but it hasn't been updated in three years, and it's really starting to show its age. The only alarm options are the kind that people thought were funny 10 years ago: you know, the dog that goes "woof woof!" and the duck that goes "quack quack!" Completely inappropriate for a work environment. The icon, with its blaring primary red colored icon, is also a bit of an eyesore. Both faults mentioned here could be fixed in very little time. Just add three non-corny, normal alarm options and tone down the icon's color a bit. Those quick fixes would bring the app up to five stars. Will the developers bother? I can only hope. If they don't, I hope a competitor swoops in and makes an improved version of this app and carries the concept of the GTD 2-min timer forward.
does not work
the alarm function does not work also realized that one can use the timer on the world clock - for free - to do the same thing....
No ticking sound since os4?
I loved this app - until OS4 came out. Now I can't get it to make any ticking sound! Please update!
Meh
It doesn't work in the background. So much for reading an article or doing online banking.
Easy to use
Very simple and easy to use. I only wish it had the option to repeat the interval. This way if you have multiple two minute tasks, it can help keep you on track without having to stop what you're doing in order to start the timer again. Thanks!
