Excellent File Transer Utiliy
Excellent File Transfer Utility. Is veryreliable. Just be aware that if you are copy/receiving file from/to a drive that isa SOFTRaid (6.3) formatted drive that these drives will not show up on the target systen under FileBrowswer until you initiate sharing for each RAID drive on the host system. This is not a flaw in FileBrowser or SOFTRaid. I is a result of a design chane in SOFTraid 6.3, where they have removed support for SMB. You can finf details about this online at SOFTRaid Tech Support. If you are using standard Apple Utility formated drives you will not need to worry about this
Local editing integration
I love this application but I have this problem, it does not allow me to edit the documents stored in the clouds using the local programs. Apparently there is no integration or a link that allows programs like: Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. access and edit stored documents online through FileBrowser. This feature would be amazing since it would no longer be required to copy the file locally in order to edit it. Hopefully this is on your list of improvements for the future: - /
Grateful to have but needs some work...
I am a avid user of Filebrowser on my iPad / iOS, so naturally I was waiting for the day FileBrowser would come to the macOS. **I am currently running Catalina (10.15.7)** I realize that this is a new app and future updates will certainly improve the UX experience. However, I find that FB is currently lacking in 2 areas that will disappoint any power user. —— ISSUE #1 —— My biggest complaint is that the selection tools (copy/paste/etc.) have been transfered over quite literally from touch pad to mouse click, and this makes moving files around, renaming files, and qucik browsing extremely unefficient when using the mouse. What takes 2-3 secs on a tocuh pad might take you twice as long to complete using mouse clicks! They need figure out a better way to translate the controls for mouse/keyboard use, or simply rebuild that portion of the Mac version. —— ISSUE #2 —— Also, there is no Menu Tool bar (like at all...) so this removes our ability to use common Mac Keyboard Shortcuts or to Map custom controls to mouse/keyboard. I give it 3/5 because the app shows promise in areas like Sync/Backup Folders & URL Action Links.
Still a lot to do
Cannot open word documents, and I assume spreadsheets, and so on) from a network drive and edit the document. The app is asking to copy the document to the mac to edit the doc.
Great app
I tried another file manager, and was disappointed. Then I remembered what I use on the iPad was FileBrowser Pro. So, if you need a grrat file manager to unite all your various storage in one place, try this terrific utility!
Excellent file manager
Connects to everything and collects no data. I also use it on my phone and ipad.
