I like the new interface with dark mode and a customizable toolbar. Unfortunately, the app is buggy now, and routinely hangs when I try to export a Contour xml file. I've gone back to using Version 1. Hopefully, they fix it soon. UPDATE: I requested a refund, and apparently, just because an app doesn't work properly is not enough to justify a refund. Stick with Version 1. This is $30 for an appearnce upgrade, and functionality downgrade.

I think this would be a great writing aid if the developer paid more attention to how macOS apps are supposed to work. As it is, there's no indication as to where the app saves its files, nor does it allow you to save a duplicate. It does allow you to export as an XML, which saved my project because it seems not to write all the fields out properly, a BUG which really makes this app unusable.

I can tell a story but have no idea how to write it. Contour 2 lets a writer break down the thought process into crucial moments. I like how it walks you through the choices your characters must invest and gives insight into what each box’s information should reflect. Hopefully, this app will help with a coherent storyline. Contour is a different kind of writing platform than just a blank sheet and offers encouragement to move writing forward. My only disappointment is that syncing between devices is clunky. Would have given five stars with auto sync in the cloud possibility. Since I write on my iPad and Mac, I am concerned about having the most recent information on my current device. Love what Contour 2 does, but wish for auto syncing. I am looking forward to exporting my finished work as text into Scrivner or Ulysses where cloud syncing is easier and fine-tune a finished product there.
