Works well with Stats, love the spacing config
Not as polished as Bartender but it costs a lot less, so I'll take the deal :) Controling spacing in the Menu Bar only exists in Bartender and it's a great feature (HiddenBar and Dozer don't have it). Annoying that you have to log out everytime you want to switch to a different spacing mode but once you settle with one it's not an issue. Finally, it works well with the free Stats app.
Holds your menu bar apps hostage
This app, if running the "free" version, holds your menu bar apps hostage -- WITH NO WAY TO EASILY QUIT THE APP -- until you pay to free the hostages. Not sure how this passed muster by the App Store review process. For those of you who want to free the app's from this hostage state, you can do so by launching Activity Monitor, finding "Barbee" and then "killing" the process. The same thing can be accomplished from the Terminal command line if you know what you're doing. Good luck with that if you're a Mac expert. The better option is for the app developer to provide the ability for the user who does not want to pay ransom to easily "Quit" the app from the hostage-taker's demand sheet.
Record my screen? No thank you
The app wants permissions to record my ENTIRE screen? No thanks
"Wrong Order of Icons"
Every time I start up my computer I get an error stating the icons are in the incorrect order and then pulls up the quick start menu to show me how. I do exactly as it says and verything works fine, but I am prompted with this error EVERY time I start up. I have 3 computers with this app on it and they all do the same. I have even reached out to the creator, but never recieved a responce. App works exactly what I would like it to besides this "error" popup.
The updated notch removal feature is perfect!
It's so perfect that screenshots don't even have black bars! Also there is no resolution rescaling happening, so the text is even clearer than Appls's official notch compatibility option.
Does not work properly
I am not able to permanently hide items from my menu bar, let alone re-arange them once the app already has done so. Everytime I try to change the order of icons in my menu bar, the mouse cursor spasses out and the bar doesn't update. Waste of money.
works decently well
I don't know if it's because I have an M1 Mac but this app causes stuttering on my MacBook and doesn't always hide icons on the menu bar. does not work smoothly and I want my money back.
