Description
Edit metadata. Autocrop scans
Two powerful photo tools: One speeds up scanning of printed photos, the other makes digital photos easy to organize:

- SNIP to batch-crop dozens of scanned photos with one click
- TAG to add captions and metadata to your digital photos

SNIP is quite amazing. A blessing if you are scanning hundreds (or thousands) of printed photos. Scan multiple photos per frame with any scanner, digital camera or smartphone. Batch all the scans and import into SnipTag. They'll ALL be detected, cropped and saved with one click.

- Automatically crops up to a HUNDRED scans with one click
- Preserves image format and resolution (PPI/DPI)
- Handles scans in JPG, HEIC, TIFF, PNG and BMP formats- Much faster and more accurate than more famous programs

TAG is indispensable for photos you've taken with your digital camera as well as those you've scanned. Edit file names and dates. Add locations, descriptions, keywords and much more. With keyboard or voice dictation. Add captions as well as metadata in one step - making your photos much more fun to browse, and much easier to find/search.

- Do metadata editing for individual photos or in batch mode
- Easily enrich photos with who, what, when, where details
- EXIF/IPTC tags enable easy organization, retrieval of photos- Imprint captions (date, place, description) under the photos

SnipTag's powerful metadata editor supports more than 25 IPTC and EXIF metadata tags. Make your digital library of thousands of photos easy to manage and search.

SnipTag's Metadata Viewer shows detailed EXIF and IPTC data for every photo. And its Photo Finder can quickly retrieve the photos you need.

SnipTag gives you full control of your photo memories. It does all the processing locally, on your Mac. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server - assuring you of complete privacy. When done, you can export photos to any computer, external drive or cloud storage.

It's a unique, useful app like no other; and dead simple to use. It's brought to you by the people who created Pic Scanner - world's first mobile app for auto-cropping multiple scanned photos - and its acclaimed successor, Pic Scanner Gold. If you use an iPhone or iPad user, check out Pic Scanner Gold today.

Good when it actually works

I've been using this to extract photos from scanned scrapbook pages. First, it only automatically recognizes square/rcatngular shapes and only if there is a clear contrast between the photo and background. So anything backed with paper or oval has to be snipped by hand. Then, it shuts down as I add a new scanned image to the workspace about every other page I add. Now it is quitting while tring to hand snip photos on a particular page. When it works, it does a nice job. When it doesn't work, well, it is frustrating.

Time saver

This app cropped my scans more precisely than Photoshop. Read the user guide first and scan as recommended there.

When it worked, it was decent enough! But now it crashes

I tried this on a subsample of my images. Maybe a dozen. And it worked. Not perfectly, it couldn't nail the cropping dead on. But it was close enough that clean up work would be tolerable for the few hundred images I had to parse now (and possibly a lot more later). I paid for the full version, I like to support developers creating unique niche apps. Plus the cost is neglible considering how long it will take me to do this manually! But like magic, it almost quit working then. I need to run any Canon RAW images through a converter to make them TIF first. But they are larger files. And the app hangs before it even gets to 20. So I tried the Jpeg verision, and it still crashes. I am very disappointed. If you are looking at this app it is close to what you need. But I can't say for sure it will deliver.

Couldn't get it to work

Nothing happens when I import a scan of 4 separated photos. No warnings, information logs. Nothing shows up in cropped panel. Using latest Big Sur on a png.

Using Free Trial

This software is not intuitive. I have no idea how to get it to do what I want, and the developers did not go a good job in making it make sense. I want to be able to drag and drop my photos, quickly caption them, then have them sized to the standard available options for retail printing - with the visible captions. Is that really so hard to do? After I edited my first photo and saved it, it doesn't show me where it's going or what it looks like or anything. Not as good or user-friendly as I expected. Why don't the people who make this stuff ASK the poeple who USE this stuff what they're looking for?

Great App! Auto-cropping Works Well!

This app is well worth the price and works as advertised. I was able to scan, update and export 120 photos in about an hour, at the rate of 4 per scan. The UI needs some work. Holding the SHIFT key down to select a range of photos does not work, the SHIFT key works the same as the ALT key, selecting additional individual photos. I expected holding the ALT key down while hovering over the rotate tool, would reverse the rotation, but that did not work. After updating the date of a bunch of photos, it would be great to have an option that either sorted the photos by date, so I could see what has yet to be updated, or a flag to indicate thusly. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to improvements with the UI. The auto-cropping works great and to repeat, this app is well worth the price!

Works intermittently

I love the idea behind this app, but I cannot get it to work consistently. I imported hundreds of pre-scanned images, but the auto-crop feature would not pick up the images because I scanned them touching the edges of the scanner bed. So I painstakingly rescanned all the photos with plenty of white space around each image, exactly as described in the FAQ Autocropping Tutorial page. This improved the auto-cropping, but some of my scans randomly were not detected at all. I cannot determine why some of my scans aren't detected but others are, even though I scanned them all exactly the same. Switching the cropping engine yielded mixed results. With the amount of time I have spent fiddling with this app, I could have just scanned each photo one-by-one and manually cropped each one and been done sooner. I'm going back to my Windows computer to use the ScanSpeeder app.
