Warning! It is extremely important that time, date and timezone of the importing device and the camera match to use this app! Ever wished photos taken with another camera and imported into your iCloud library were also geotagged just like the ones taken with your phone? As long as you keep your phone with you and make sure time, date and timezone is synchronized between your phone and camera, you can even have it happen automatically! With automatic tagging enabled you don't even need to open the app for it to work. Even if you import photos on your Mac or iPad and they sync to your iPhone they will eventually also be tagged fully automatically in the background. The geotags will then sync back to iCloud so you can view a map of your photos on any device that supports this. The app also supports importing .gpx and .json files from Google Timeline so you can tag your old photos as well!
A good solution
It’s unfortunate that so many DSLR Cameras still don’t geotag pictures. That’s just the way it is and we are forced to accept that. To overcome this issue I’ve tried tagging manually in Photos App which is a big pain. I’ve also tried other solutions which often involve an iOS app tracking your location and a Mac App to apply the data to the photos. This is better but still quite a bit of work and involves several steps. This app has the unique solution of tracking your location, then you can ask the app to tag your photos once they sync through iCloud. What a neat idea. I do check the app to be sure it is updating my location from time to time because an iOS update seems to stop it from getting my location in the background. The vast majority of the time it works just fine and is one less thing I need to worry about. Nicely done.
Does not work!
I synched my cameras date time exactly to my iPhone X. Does nothing! Complete waste of money.
