I bought it after reading the reviews, yes I am disappointed HOPING they will improve the capabilities. YES its a fancy slide show with some different features, I too have the PC version. Note: Avoid this if thats what your after.

I have been using Muvee products for almost a decade. I bought this version as soon as I saw it available for Mac wishfully thinking that it will be similar to its windows predecessors. I was disappointed for three main reasons: 1. It poorly handles high resolution images. At some point the program would simply stop processing images unless you remove those hi-res photos one by one and try to add them later. The limit on image number (currently 50) is too low. 2. The control panel for music, style, & pace appears only after you press play, which means that the slideshow starts playing automatically with the "old" settings. So, if you need to change the style, music or pace, you will need to be quick to stop the slideshow and modify the settings. To export (limited to 4 basic options) you have to first press play and wait for the slideshow to be “re-generated”. 3. Styles: they are completely automated and you have no control over transitions, zoom level, color filter, brightness, contrast, saturation, framing, repetition. If you wish to create a simple (pure) professionally-looking slideshow (without any superficial noise or color effects or cheesy frames and distracting transition effects) this program will not let you do it. There is no option to add text either. The app has a potential, for now I give 4 stars with hope that developers will address the above mentioned issues soon. And if they do, I will come back to upgrade my 4-star rating.

I am glad to see that Muvee is breaking into Apple. I love this when I had windows. I do photography, and love the quick 50 pick up load. After editing photos, I can create a quick slideshow for my clients or quick galleries to show work, events, etc on Facebook or as a portfolio. I am looking forward to being able to purchase more creative options. For now, this works for quick use and time saving use.

I've used this for a couple jobs now. Yes, it's like a slide show, not sure what others expected. I've made two shows on for my nonprofit web site and totally happy with both. Time to create was minimal. Sure the options are minimal, what did you expect for the price? I'm happy, totally. If you visit mountain fund you can see two items I made in about 10 minutes - max - time each. It's exactly what I needed, not more, not less.
