This app has potential but for what I’m trying to do I’ll continue using OBS. This app needs more control over your audio source and video playback from a video that’s already on your iPad like a star stop button. It’s hard to do reaction videos when the video just plays and won’t stop you can’t pause it or scrub back so I don’t know.

This app is helping me get one step closer to fully using my iPad Air 5 as a full laptop replacement. I have but one complaint/bug I’ve noticed in the scene editor. When I import an image, such as my logo, I cannot fully control the size of said logo. If I try to change the size horizontally, the aspect ratio is locked, so every other dimension is locked in. I should be able to adjust the size of the logo image in every direction without the aspect ratio being locked. I can easily use my Maonocaster E2 sound board for sound and my Canon M6 Mark II with my Elgato HD 60S+ for video, and it is all perfect. If I can just import my logo in editing scenes, and not have it aspect locked, we are golden.

I imagine it is surely challenging to have your product compared to the streaming giant that is OBS. I imagine there is a lot of pressure on devs to get it to the same level as OBS, they’re doing a great job, however they are still missing some basic stuff. The most glaring of that being… Community Plugins: build some sort of API so that the community can make plugins for the app (assuming Apple allows that, correct me if I’m wrong). Community plugins allows devs to focus on stability and groundbreaking improvements while the community can pick up the slack that OBS has over Camo Studio for iPad Also some minor level bugs needs fixed as well. I just lost a recording of an entire, one showing only, play I was asked to film. The file didn’t save because it said that the save location I set it to didn’t exist despite me being able to open the exact folder (with all of the other camo videos I’ve recorded) it couldn’t find. A default save location to fall back on would have solved this issue before it even came up. I love Camo but there is some work that needs to be done. It’s been a while since an update so I’m hoping they have something huge in the works.

My current set up: -iPad Air 5th Gen with M1 Chip -Elgato HD60S+ Capture Card -PS5 -Audiobox Go Interface -A Samson XLR Mic -A Logitech Brio -An aux cable connecting from my tv to the interface -Generic USB C Dock I love this app! It’s something I’ve been waiting for since Apple announced their new line of iPads running their M series silicon chips. Camo Studio and the team behind it do not disappoint! Some things I’d like to see addressed: -Multiple audio inputs (or forcing mono input). I understand that there are constraints to the iPad and iPadOS. Given my setup, my interface can combine two different sources, that being my microphone, and my TV’s aux output, however it can only capture in stereo. So when I record or stream, my audio comes out with my voice in one speaker, and the gameplay from the other. I wonder if there’s a way to force the application to record audio in mono? -My face cam shape. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I don’t seem to have the option to change the shape of my camera feed when trying to create a scene from scratch? It’s just the circle. I can see the option in the tutorial videos, but can’t seem to find them myself. This also might just be a me issue, but I find creating a new scene entirely to be a bit confusing to start? This is given I’ve used OBS Studio for years now on traditional computers. Overall, great experience. I look forward to seeing where the team takes this app moving forward.

United StatesScreen Mirror Problems
The App is great, but there is a problem with screen mirroring where it doesn’t show the whole screen (Cuts off the top and bottom of screen), and when I need to switch to an app, the view cuts my top half off where you can’t see the whole image of me, only the lower half. This problem seems to only happen when you are screen recording (I am working off of an M2 IPad Pro). Other than that works great! Especially with Mic, Console, Screen, MIDI, etc plugged into a hub. Would love to use full time if this issue can be resolved. Seems to be a (relatively) easy fix. Also, I have tried to delete and reinstall the app, but the same result was concluded.
